Good luck with it man, as others have said only time will tell but you instincs have went with the council job so always trust them, Self employment will always be there if the council job does not pan out the way you hoped. And if you are working with the council 5 days you will have lots of energy for the weekend on your own work All the best.

  8. yep the construction is very substantial, i just dont take the chance and diagonal suport all the gates i construct.

  10. one thing, i would have put diagonal supports on your gate to stop it sagging but a great job though mate
  11. had a lazy day watching movies yesterday. seven american beauty once were warriors fantastic, it had been ages since id seen them.

  13. i burnt a load this winter, excellent to burn, to season took 12 month (split) in the log shed then i transfered it to the greenhouse for 6 month was about 15-18% moisture content when i burnt it, i have a load just about to go in greenhouse for this winter as well. i like it, its also smells nice in the house next to the fire.
  14. cheers man, does the 1000 sit higher than your 406 then? as it just "looks" bigger it may be an optical illusion.

  20. start small and build it up, once it has a heart you can burn anything. 20 ltrs of cherry and a tyre help
