  2. At the risk of degenerating the standard of the thread heres a classic smiley codit pic. Sorry its not a great pic.
  3. Sounds interesting. I once tried to keep some pet logs from an Oyster infested Lime but they never fruited. Good luuck.
  4. I have 3.5 tipper and a car insured by NFU. The no claims was certainly taken into account on both.
  5. Some kind of vascular wilt? eg Dutch Elm. Don`t know if you get it out there:confused1:
  6. I once trimmed a long laurel hedge, reaching the tops from the back of the truck, standing on piles of Laurel. By the end of the day i was felling sick with a banging headache. It disappeared in the evening but first thing in the morning after getting back into the back of the truck it came straight back. Not recommended.
  7. I don`t have a 7.5 tonner but i am insured with NFU at Cirencester for PL, truck and tools. I think it depends which office you speak to as to what deal you get.
  8. I don`t know the saws you have mentioned but its always worth paying a bit to get a good saw imo.
  9. Yeah, thats the one. i didn`t manage it but i used to help. Small world! Its Steve West who manages it. I know it as Foxcombe but its owned by the Pilkington trust. Thats where i learnt to use a chainsaw and climbed my first tree (with a harness). I feel all nostalgic now.
  10. That does sound pretty over the top. I mean its fair enough to know how to treat a cut but listing CE numbers is a bit ott imo
  11. If its the place i think it is i made them some mushrooms a few years ago. I recognise the garden. Its near Foxcombe woods i think which is where i got my first arb related job.
  12. Thats like Mr potato head for trees:lol:
  13. I just never answer a withheld number or one with an area code i don`t know. they give up in the end.
  14. The next level of difficulty would be the Technician certificate.
  15. I don`t think you can really go wrong with either saw.
  16. Anything will be considered at the moment. Cheers Theocus:thumbup1:
  17. If its an 020 then its probably quite old. 200t`s have been out for a while now.
  18. I`m looking for a place or places to get rid of chip near to Stroud. Any sujestions would be much appreciated, PM me with details. Cheers, Ali
  19. I agree a field guide would be useful with a list of common decay, saprophyte and mycorrhizal fungi. A good ident flow chart and some way to find likely host to tree. Also the possible implications of particular decay and species. That would be handy.
