  1. oct o9 edition couldnt climb for two months + so at least I had something to read ! 'crikey I rip out recipes in the dentists waiting room all the time!' Your teeth must be shiny
  2. Ben90 For ident on G. Adspersum / G. Applanatum I always remembered it by by looking at the rim add-spersum had thicker rim that curls ie it add -sum so you have an instant recognition I hope that makes sense:biggrin:
  3. Love the centre pull out and the climbers at different heights found my one at doctors
  4. Got the macbook love it and does it all Personally wouldnt bother with a ipad or iphone unless I wanted to keep up with the kids in the playground. I break anything with a big screen so I try and avoid tablet types n mac repair costs! (Use samsung b2100 the only phone thats lasted more than 6mths dropped in river driven over it and links blue tooth etc)

  13. ben lightfoot No one has mentioned the postive side of the grounds person being able to see where the climber may be in a dense tree? I did
  14. If it was aphid damage there would be sooty deposits on close inspection
  15. Not sure the owner thought no big deal ! lol If you had been monitoring the said tree then you are responsible did you have a monitoring schedule in place etc? If you wrote a report hope you stated " No tree is 100% safe "
  16. The signing lighting and guarding course (chapt 8) that allows you to work roadside legally in accordance with HA etc didnt say you had too but when your feet hit the ground on it had to go

Tabbards up a tree no no more hassle than they are worth even on the signing lighting and guarding operators and supervisors course they said they were not necessary for a climber, snagging etc.(but that was 3yr + ago so may have changed) but T shirts I go with as it helps on those dull days for the climbers helping groundsman to be aware of positioning etc Most people dont observe the road let alone being distracted by monkeys in dayglo =smash

  19. Clematis montana, I think the variety is Rubens. Grows at a ridiculous pace and fairly easy to root as softwood cuttings, from about now. I like the montanas, good value climbers.
  20. Is it for cutting the roots in lines of nursery trees so the root ball produces more finer root hairs for bare root stock ? called a knife or something?
