  1. Crow Wood Equestrian Centre, ... myerscough college ?
  2. When we breathe in air the unused particles are carcinogenic. So please all ensure that you breathe in only the correct amount needed. Breathe safe out there guys n girls
  3. Monkey-D The spec was to make safe. I thought it would be an ideal tree to mix and match and have a play hopefully promote more of this kind of work at there sites. No mewp, no winches on the fractures just the weight of the branch therfore reducing the risk of pulling the tree over:thumbup1:
  4. This week had a Quercus sp in slow decline to reduce due to proximity of targets ie road. Client being local wildlife trust in came the coronets and a couple of fractures and retention of stag heading to help it fit in and help with biodiversity. Pics are a bit dark though. Customer was happy reduced risk and ticked boxes with a bonus of reworking the tree in the future.
  5. I have had a ferg with loader offered to me in surrey not sure its a 35 though just been told its a ferg waiting to go and see it hopefully b4 this weekend. Will keep you posted if your interested and send some pics.
  6. Why not follow the Jersey lead in the employment section?
  7. Hi Steve I was wondering as you are a man of great organisational skills etc that you might have dates of apf , capel and the like for next year 2011.

After reading posts on the AA show it has spurned me to chase my idea of a show on one of the sites I work. They have all facilities needed from bars, toilets to camping and

easily accessed from 3 major motorways.

I may well be laughed at but if I can set a date to start the ball rolling you can have a stall with your cold beer and cheap grub for all the arbtalkers and a site to roll around in your tents.

If I don't try it will bug me if you know what I mean!

  8. looks like a perfect lunge to me
  9. I thought I would put my tuppence worth in so you wer'nt feeling ignored ! I would think treat her like any oak. Pretty hardy and capable of regrowth (dormant buds) due to its capacity to deal with fires. Not pruned one myself though pretty hardy though drought resistant suffer from root rot Good for bonsai as roots and tops can be pruned so I guess you will be fine.
  10. Hard to comment without pics ,site history etc Perhaps they were in decline before and the owners because of the risk of targets/traffic a reduction reduced the potential hazard plus the owners didnt want full removal so maybe it was there last chance to save them. Compaction sounds like one possible cause How recently had they been done, lack of moisture in soil. Maybe ground works have taken place nearby or leaking sewers or water pipes.. Information and monitoring of the trees 'we are detectives!'
  11. Instow, Tapeley Park, Lots of goodies Holm oaks, thuja's, monteray's Ask for jenny and say you know justin and she will point you all in the right direction. I have been going for a few years now and always find something new

Monkey-D round the base outside no peeling bark and looks in good health at a glance ,oozing exudate when I climbed inside and signs of fruiting bodies in a decomposed state also had a dig around outside and could not find any rhizomorphs. phenology in motion! Gibbon/Arbgirl She be in Devon Tommer9 102 Mr L died but he out lived his boards as they rotted in the devon damp !

  18. nearly forgot the close up !
  19. The centre I could scrabble in and it was hollow for quite a way up. 20ft No history could be found about the tree But what a beauty
  20. Found this cracking tree hidden away on an estate, hope you enjoy the pics:thumbup: The leaf looks similar to a turkey but I am stumped to be honest so get your thinking caps on or am I just thick.. I know that they can cross with other oaks but they only came here in 1735 to Exeter so that would make it 275 yrs old? Is it not too big?
