  3. Thanks alot m8 for your input and everyone else
  4. Always pikies around ripley especially more near bonfire night /fair The police helicopter got wrecked by them and put out of action for a bit ! The trouble with that area is the a3/m25 so its also an easy area to recce and rob and hot tail out of there..... alot of big plant was going missing and found stashed in a farm building in east horsley a few months back but that was more organised crime more than opportunists all for export..... I did mention it on here a while back incase any of you had been done. Thing is if you work hard and get kit there is always someone who wants it from you for nothing thats the way it is and always will be............ I might graffiti all my saws and kit with derogatory remarks about our caravanning friends, obviously nothing too complex or joined up writing then its not so attractive and shiny
  5. Sorry to hear.. Get down the A3 carboot on sunday, I got done a couple of years back and found my stuff being sold along with loads of kit, long story but got it all back and now my place is full of man traps did get carried away at one point tho. But like you have done serial numbers are the only thing we all have that can prove the stuff is ours - as you have to prove its yours not the other way round- If your desperate for anything and I can help pm me
  6. Tree_beard wot mods are we talking fittings/bolts etc or carb jets or crank? Liking the sound of that but dont want to get away from reliability if that would be an issue Bringing back memories of my AR50 moped lol £280 so far mr solutions for genuine parts
  7. Yeah the 64 is just a bit lighter than the 66 for up a tree but your only talking grams but it all helps. Sods law its been sleeping for a while and now I have a big run on to use it and it doesnt want to play anymore! Will phone round and check and get prices today, Hss hire near me do quite good deals on stihl bits but will also wait for replies from fleabay.............. Thanks for all your pointers and info
  8. Thanks its a ms640 Just got in and took of exhaust and its looking quite scored but will look at the cylinder when I have a chance ,wasn't sure about non gen parts, will look in the usual places ebay etc but looks like I will bite the bullet as its cheaper than a new saw..... ouch! Oh the joys !!
  9. Can anyone advise on where the best place is to get replacement pot n piston for the above, any pointers gratefully received. Cheers:001_smile:
  10. Cant help you but you want to have a look in the Ram Inn ! go round into the car park and Knock on the door im sure you will be let in............
  11. Tockmal looks like a well made bit of kit for forearms and grip a cheap and easy way is get a bar 2ft -cut off broom stick would do, drill hole through centre push a line through and tie a knot , throw the end over a branch etc over head height and tie a weight on the end.start with a brick wind up the slack and take it up slowly winding wrists up in a forward action when the weight comes to head height then slowly wind back to the ground in a backward action all in a controlled manner. Keep doing this up and down and feel it work My old boss showed me this it was a motor x trick for strength
  12. Dont keep your eggs in one basket? I suppose it also depends on how much cash you have etc to keep afloat. Surely you have nothing to lose if you have work for other people it may turn into a better option or at least it would keep you in the swing (no pun) of things and give you an income.Especially if people are happy to give you work? Christmas is round the corner n you don't want to be skint for then. Then by the time they get back to you and you go for the job it would look better for you as you havnt sat on your jacksie...cause every day you learn something new
  13. Very tidy! Just wondering thou when you put the tipper body on will you reinforce the back of the chassis around the tipper hinge ? Just a thought as a few people have converted but no one has mentioned reinforcing the rear, had a few landrovers and have a factory fitted tipper and that has reinforcing plates on both sides. I am sure a tidy chassis can take a bit of abuse but as it ages and the damp and dirt gets flicked up from tyres into the recesses etc it may weaken when the weight is pinpointed on the rear.... I even boxed in the rear crossmember but maybe thats cause im anal just a thought
  14. I say wots your name? "nurse bell" came the reply "Ding Dong!
