  1. This is brilliant jrnR8aQ.mp4
  2. I do similar. I know to stay out of COVID or politics threads as thats where the biggest whoppers tend to congregate. Its a problem when threads get taken over and its just completely irrelevant ramblings on every thread. It gets old quickly
  3. Completely oblivious to it as well. Maybe time for a clean out
  4. Shame really as the vast majority of members on here are spot on. Its just the few strokers who appear in every thread and chat absolute rubbish. I think Lockdown has effected more than one or two and tensions are getting a bit frayed.
  5. WIth the Chainsaw courses, if you do the next course up, it automatically refreshes the one below it. (eg, doing the Felling up to 380mm refreshes the Crosscutting and maintenance, doing the Felling over 380mm refreshes the Felling up to 380mm and so on and so on)
  6. But its a different course if its an extra day then isnt it? Or am I missing something Can you upskill like City and Guilds allows?
  7. The cover and the core dont get zeroed out properly meaning there is movement between the cover and core. Normally this just means once you've climbed on it a couple of times the cover extends a little bit and the core sucks up. You just cut it off though. If its spliced both ends, there is nowhere to go. Remember though, if you've got a splice each end, you won't be able to use a Zigzag. Plus, and this is my personal pet hate, companies will splice the rope then put the ID shrink wrap on the end and you need to cut it off to put a Mechanical on.
  8. Be aware of the ropes characteristics as some can milk quite a bit. If you've spliced both ends, there is nowhere to go. Also a nightmare if you're using mechanicals
  9. Welcome to the forum! I'm guessing you would want it as forest ground specimen? What is the purpose of collecting the data?
  10. Thats a shame. If anyone is interested I will put on a Zoom call that weekend. If everyone thats upset they're going to miss the APF wants to show up in their Chainsaw trousers and a vest with wellies or Rigger boots then we can all have a virtual meet up. If we want to go for full authentic feel, get some cans in and see if some local youths wouldn't mind smoking a few joints in your garden then nicking some stuff out your shed before you sleep in a leaking tent in the garden.
  11. Good luck with it mate. If people want to stop drinking I'm happy for them to transfer all their spare cash to me and I'll use it to fund my coffee and tattoo habits. Win win
  12. I've not drunk alcohol since 2014 now. Don't miss it. There are better things to waste your money on imo
  13. My garden never looked better last year, did lots of decorating that we never got round to. Spring and Summer were great, cooking barbeques with my girls every night. Bought a bike and was able to go out and do some miles on that. Cant wait for warmer weather again
  14. To the guy who is on £384 a day. What kit are you bringing for that? Is that just climber, saws and rigging kit?
  15. Backwards. Away from the tree its resting on. If you don't have a winch, sever the bottom and get a pole and lever it back
  16. Whoever installed the cambium saver put the rings the wrong way round. It won't pull out normally so they would have to climb back up to get it out
  17. I don't know, it seems to have interested a couple of you!!
  18. We don't know that's the reason. Not sure that its a good idea speculating about reasons or involving the blokes wife IMHO. Flip side could be that they are aware of Sam posting threads on here and don't want all their jobs viewed online, the wife highlighted that and all of a sudden the Arbtalk jury have spoken! haha. This is just as much speculation as everyone else has posted but we all promise things that we want to deliver, in this case a job, and it doesn't always work out though through no fault of our own. Contracts could have fallen through, truck goes bang. All sorts of things that you couldn't forsee. I promised my wife 12 inches, I just didn't tell her it would be in installments! Its rough, but a good offer of a course has come from it so not all bad, I just don't think its too cool to rinse a bloke without knowing all of the story. Just my 2p worth!
  19. No worries mate, I don't know the bloke in question, could be a member on here for all I know. I know I'd not want to hear that about me or my Mrs if that was me.
  20. Thats disappointing. Its done now though. Speculating on if the bloke has history or what the man's wife looks isn't really fair IMO. Great offer from Rough Hewn as well 👍 Good man
