  1. My mate gave me one that they were issued with on the pylons. Its great. Forget the name though. Has 4 small batteries that fit in a little pouch. Goes for a long distance
  2. He's far better than that MonkeyD bloke, he was no help at all?
  3. Couldn't think of a better recipient to be honest. Congratulations David
  4. Nail and head I do love watching someone bust out a full SRT kit and foot and knee ascender for a little Apple RJ though
  5. I think it's real. Drew is over in Fiji and posting similar leaning palms
  6. Because the other end is not anchored off statically. It is moving you
  7. I make a rule of not anchoring on anything thinner than my wrist. I reckon my old boy is thicker than that. Loads of times I've looked at branches on the ground and thought "that looks a bit touch and go" but when you get up there, they're fine. That must have looked tiny from the ground
  8. I keep meaning to have a go but not sure when! haha. It is certainly an interesting one
  9. How is it to do Carl? I remember watching the guy from Cousin do it at a show and its a bit trippy!
  10. If you have the spec then you have the answers. A good assessor can't fail you for something which doesn't appear in the Spec. The easiest things to fail for would be inaccurate cuts, poor work positioning or poor use of the saw.
  11. If it was that or an hour of driving, I'd find a way?
  12. Exactly. Two trucks so one is just being filled and the other is driving. Not sure what the second chipper is doing with a bunch of regrowth off those. How tall are they? Get a local farmer to drop a trailer off and fill that. Picture doesn't make them look huge tbh.
  13. I like it. Its the best Liverpool based Arb Website I've ever seen.
  14. First time I borrowed my mates saw with them they were turned on and I didn't realise. Thought I was having a stroke? Both my 550 and 560 are XPG now. Will always spend the extra if buying new now
  15. I either tried to drink it, climb it or get inside it when I was a student. Loved every minute. I remember losing lots of evenings because the nearest Sainsbury did 4 cans of Skol and a litre bottle of Martini for less than a Fiver. Great times
  16. I can see that being the case, the friction has to go somewhere. The best part of the Twin is the installation I think. I remember being blown away the first time I saw a cambium saver being set from the ground, the fact you can put the twinline in from the ground and use it straightaway, plus the SRT and access line already in makes it great IMO. If you're using it in the traditional way, there's no difference from the Original Ropeguide, just fancier and more robust pulleys and cams etc.
  17. The Ropeguide twinline is by far the best option and super versatile for the work I do. You can do practically everything if you have the splice anchor as well and the advantage of being set from the ground on a line and retrieved without having to drop it from height is a great bonus. This isn't knocking anyone that has posted here but all of the local people that I've found who say there is something better than the Twinline, haven't used one and just make comments on the price. It really is a great bit of kit
  18. Nice. Dane is a top bloke! What are you doing there? Working?
  19. Emma was great, (not too sure about the David bloke though?)
  20. Genuinely great. Would probably help to have some knowledge but you'll still learn something regardless of background. I really enjoyed it
  21. Cyanide and Happiness are very funny and worth a look. Some of their stuff is near the line!
  22. I don't mind the dragging but I think I'd want more money if I have to take anything. I see why Joe enjoys working there now.
  23. Really sad news. Never met him but from everyone's comments, he was clearly a good bloke
