  1. Not yet but its about to be CE marked apparently. My Zigzag plus and Zillion are both within the effected serial numbers, they are replacements from some which have cracked and were sent back. Not sure that I have much faith in having them replaced. How are they working out the refunds?
  2. Refund and Roperunner Pro time🤞
  3. Hiya. Thanks for the promt @Mark Bolam T rex can be spliced with a biro or a bent coat hanger as stated but a Selma fid would work well too. The trick is tapering the ends to a kind of bullet and taping it really well. You can get any sail makers needles from ebay or a local chandlers. Most important thing to go with them is a sail makers palm and a pair of flat pliers for pulling the needle through. Most whipping twine is fine although if you're splicing big fat hollow braids, you could probably get away with using throwline There are some pictures and a thread here
  4. I'd also accept "Ships and Shits corner" if needed
  5. If my phone was listening to what I'm saying there would be loads of videos which followed the theme of "STOP BANGING" and I can assure you, all of the videos on my phone are pretty much the polar opposite
  6. If you believe this then having a tracking device is probably a necessity as you shouldn't be allowed outside without some kind of assistance.
  7. A refreshing change where a sensible question gets sensible answers. Not used to this! I'd echo what has been said, 261 or a 550. Nothing worse than someone showing up with a 661!
  8. Yeah. Love mine. Nothing comes close for me
  9. Not ground breaking but I'll be selling this idea for £89.99
  10. Also available for considerably less than £120
  11. You can just do the course and it up skills the course underneath it
  12. Have you got a figure 8? I use mine to do the same after watching someone do just that on Instagram. Will take a photo later. I'm a Southerner and there is no chance I would spend 100 notes on a stupid bit of plastic to do the same thing.
  13. Just coming to post that😄
  14. Piano wire. Cant remember the gauge. I've been using one of the Treeworker wire fids. The one I've got has lasted me at least 10 years and wasn't new when I got it.
  15. Is that Mark Strong? Awesome set up mate.
  16. Spot on mate. Good post. I find we all do things to extremes in this job. Any chance to talk this over has to be good imo
  17. I follow Ropegeeks for knots and rescue stuff. Drew Bristow for when I feel good about myself and need reminding that some people are off being cool on a desert island. Mine is excitingly 7 people away from being followed by 1000 sad fuckers looking at pictures of rope being spliced by a slightly fatter tattooed bloke. Modelling work still hasn't taken off so still having to work.
  18. I'm going to need help with this one please
  19. I use a wire find from Treeworker. It's lasted years
  20. If you've not done much, 16 strand is a good enough place to start. Samson have some great instructions to follow. Have you got a fid etc? The only issue with the US directions are that a lot of them use push fits so you have to reverse the insert exit points. If you send me a PM with your email address I will send you some videos if you want
  21. Hello Mike. How did you get on? Sorry I didn't reply earlier when I was tagged. I must have missed it for some reason. Fire away with any questions
  22. Mark the eye in the middle of the rope. 8 or 9 cm works nicely with no core. From the core end, count down 5 pairs of strands and remove a pair, count down 5 more pairs then remove another pair. Do this so you have removed 10 individual pairs in total. Cut them off near the point they exit. Then feed your fid about half way down the rope and exit in between strands. Tuck the last 5cm in the find and pull it through the inside of the rope. Job done. Where are you based? I can make you one and send it out if you have trouble
