  1. What's the rope? All splices theoretically can pull out although in practice, it's only really straight buries on Hollow braid which are likely or rigging lines that have a loose cover, which is why they are lock stitched
  2. I'd be well happy with that in fairness
  3. Turns out I'm at the age where I'm over the moon getting a Barbeque cover and Cardigan. Have a good day Arbtalk
  4. "Stop driver and ask for details"
  5. Lots on Instagram. There is The Splice Witch who has done quite a few videos about it
  6. Haven't read that article. Ill give it a look. You could well be right, I only heard about the spring issue
  7. That was the issue Rich. They have a potential to not engage at all because the internal spring wears away at the case
  8. It looked cool didn't it!!
  9. You still climbing Ian or just machinery these days?
  10. Fancied trying this. Was decent. Homemade KFC nuggets. The girls inhaled them😄
  11. Where abouts in the UK are you thinking?
  12. Yes it can. Unless we're talking about different knots in which case I apologise. A sliding double fisherman's knot has the 2 opposing knots in "the middle" and 2 loops on either side so it looks like a bow tie. If the carabiner is clipped into the opposite side, it can pull through. The reason I know this, is from teaching students to climb and watching someone tie this very knot and then having to demonstrate to them what can go wrong.
  13. Plus, if a very specific set of conditions are met, you could clip into the wrong part and it pulls itself out
  14. I use the filtered posts in the activity stream the most
  15. Catalyon hitch
  16. I had Strauss stuff in the past and its decent. Husqvarna one is surprisingly cheaper
  17. Just cancel the Direct Debit and I will
  18. Have they started shrinking or have you started growing?
  19. I have a Stretch air t shirt that has to be easily 12 years old and is holding up fine. Only a couple of little pulls on it. Normally I'll go to Matalan and pick up the basic t shirts for 4 quid each and wear them for best, when they get dirty or get food medals on them, they go to work drawer. Quite fancy the Husqvarna technical ones.
  20. I've got some of these. They're decent. Slightly thicker than the Nike Pro ones imo and hold up well That hurts
  21. Road cycling recently. Enjoy splicing and then progressed onto making nets or hammocks etc just to see if I could. My Dad has been going to Archery for a few years and always fancied having a go so might go along with him
  22. Just step in every one you can find then ask to go inside for the loo. Grind it into their carpets for good measure
