  1. My bad. I didn't read the whole thread properly:blushing:. Same as this though, daisy chain the core strands as well to prevent getting in a right mess.
  2. Use a dead blow hammer, flex the core back and forward as you're doing it and keep tension on the eye. Get a pair of gloves and keep tension on the eye and kind of 'jerk' the cover over. Stitching the crossover helps!!
  3. Cheers mate. I can get it now!!
  4. Bad week for them. Think the turbo has gone in mine
  5. What taper did you use for this Carl? Got some to splice. 24 strand double braid isn't it?
  6. Pfanner do a long leg version. 7cm extra. Could be helpful
  7. Can you take a picture when you get a chance mate, never easy to see in the vid
  8. I know this isn't what you were asking but, if you are going to be the sole climber once you are qualified, what is the policy on rescue climbers in the worst case scenario? I would recommend that as others have stated, you get hold of a pair of the best trousers you can afford. I'd steer clear of bib and braces. I can't stand them personally, but others may differ. Depending on the Risk assessment thats in place, you could argue that Type As will be less of a risk in certain situations, but this is probably something for after your tickets. I could be getting you mixed up with someone else, but didn't you say that you were quite a tall chap? Pfanners are generally regarded as the best trousers out there but it will really depend on your budget. Maybe keep an eye out for end of season offers, especially if you are tall and long as they tend to have a few pairs in the "tall and short" section when the next seasons come in. Hope this helps:001_smile:
  9. Are they a good employee and have they let you down before?
  10. Right, here goes. Jon is fine and in good health. If you miss him and want a chat, his mobile phone number is extremely easy to find on here, he wasn't banned to the best of my knowledge instead he simply chose not to continue posting. I've met him at shows and he seemed like a good guy, a sentiment which is echoed by almost everyone but his posting was turning people away from logging on due to the sheer volume and nature of what he was putting up. From an Arbtalk point of view I'm glad he doesn't post here anymore. I generally use Arbtalk for tree related talk, although there are sometimes exceptions to this, but what Jon was doing was excessive. All the people who bang on about missing Jon, go and find him and have a chat, he hasn't died, stop turning it into something it isn't and making him a martyr.
  11. Has it been a year? Feels longer. Although all the people who moan that he's left are in contact with him and see him regular so it appears everyone's happy. Live and let live eh? Not sure what this thread does but hey ho
  12. Nope. I'm colour-blind and this always made me wonder what other people see
  13. As you said about the verbal risk assessment, it's fine until it isn't fine. I'd say for the time and effort it would take it would be prudent to quickly jot one down in my opinion.
  14. Yep. Check with insurance, make sure RA are in place and if he's doing the placement as part of the college course, I'd imagine the college would have come out and met with you? Probably not a bad shout to give them a call to see if there is anything else that they might need you to tell them
  15. I remember you saying you'd seen Rich and Adams bones and were impressed.
  16. Bluebedouin, are you making these pouches or are they plans? Have cleared some space. Thanks
  17. First refusal if you want rid!!
  18. Did I imagine it or was someone on her swearing by rubbing mayonnaise into thier ropes prior to washing them?
