I love Instagram. Its miles better than Facebook. It stands and falls on who you follow though. I don't generally like all of the female climbers posting rubbish pictures and just pushing their chests out and getting pervy comments. Brings it down a bit for me. I agree with Matty though, there are some brilliant posters on there. I'm on there as Tommy_B_020 (https://www.instagram.com/tommy_b_020/?hl=en) if you want to see endless pictures of substandard tree work and bits of rope
  2. I might have just got a duff batch. Got about 2 ft out of it
  3. I had some and it milked horrendously. Quite liked it as a rope though. Felt fatter than it actually was
  4. Nope. They're designed to be clipped up. Would be absolutely horrific if you had your saw hanging below you as you climb around. As Rich says, you'd only let it hang down below you once!
  5. I'm not sure how excited it's possible to be about a chainsaw lanyard but the boys at Reecoil have put together some really well thought out kit. The majority of climbers will have got out on the end of a long skinny branch and reached out to find that the lanyard is already at full extension and still a foot or so short. Having had a good go with the "Full reach" and "Big boss" Reecoil seem to have solved this and included some nice touches along the way. The full reach has a couple of attachment points for carabiners depending on where you want to attach your saw. It seems to sit nicely tied to the top handle and keeps the bar clear of your feet and lower legs. The Big Boss is the bigger version for larger saws and happily takes a 660. Not used anything bigger with it yet but can't see it struggling. Won't be for everyone at the price and there are cheaper products out there but I'm certainly not disappointed.

  7. Can't work out if this is a serious one or I've been suckered in! I've always found Bowlines far easier to undo than Alpines. Circus Bowline is nice for a midline knot
  8. Me and my youngest both agree
  9. http://twistedash.co.uk Hiya Steve, Try giving Gary a ring
  10. Where abouts in Hertfordshire mate?
  11. Are you drawing this soon Steve or keeping it open a bit longer?
  12. Skills. Great video. Also willing to overlook my pet hate of the rewind bit in a tree video
  13. All on the NPTC website. Just select level 2 or 3 qualification and find it
  14. It's good imo. Took hardly any time to get used to it. Two toddlers makes it hard to find time to get on here mind
  15. That's brilliant Rich. Good thread. Nice pic Mark
  16. No-one in their right mind would buy those.
  17. I know of a couple. I'll message you.
  18. I joined in 2008, since then there have been some diamonds and some absolute weapons through these doors. How it always was and will be. I agree with the pseudonym part and people just logging on to stir it up. Know where to ask the right question goes a long way and the ignore button is used more that ever before. Just my 2p worth
