    Cs39?

Have you gone on the City and Guilds website and downloaded the assessment schedule? Tells you all you need to do mate
  2. That will be it. First rope I swore off splicing. Hatefull stuff. Won't be too bad if the core is like other 16 strand
  3. I guess they've changed the core fibres from braided to parallel?
  4. I went for the Harkie Innovation 2. Really good bit of kit
  5. Yeah, You would have alpine butterfly tied, then working your way up towards the "splice" end of the rope, you'll have the core strands exiting, then just the cover with the eye formed into it and the cover strands exiting the body of the rope. Hopefully this pictures shows what I mean. ( I know its different rope) Pull the core strands that I have daisy chained here, this should make enough space to get the fid through.* *once this is done, you are then in the best position to thrown the Gecko in the bin and grab a nice rope!!
  6. What a cool video. Where abouts is It?
  7. You will have tied an alpine butterfly a short way down the rope as an anchor. Pull the core strands out to bunch up the cover and the fid should pass right through.
  8. Is this still going Completely forgot about it. Pictures don't come up on the forum headings for me
  9. I still hear from Plippy and catch up with Hadleigh at the shows every now and then. I miss Mick Stockbridge being on here

Are Honey Brothers the only Stockist?
  11. You're either a big boy or a midget then!!
  12. Does the Harkie have a hood? *nevermind Any comments on the Innovation II smock?
  13. @skyhuck Click on the comments on the video. Someone was saying it wasn't a petrol saw
  14. Will you do another test with a petrol saw @Steve Bullman
  15. Stitch the crossover and keep tension in the eye as you bury it. Couple of snaps doesn't hurt
  16. Nice. Did you use the Selma does for that?
  17. Exactly the same. I have a pair of Gladiators in small and Medium Hiflex. Also have some Type A X Fit Stihls in large. All fit the same. I would recommend the Pfanners if you're able to afford them. Everyone says they are the best trousers for a reason
  18. Happy Christmas one and all. I have got enough coffee to sink a small ship, a knife sharpener and a little garlic cutter. Best thing was watching daughters open all their things. Lovely stuff

    Sharpening

It will still cut but won't be as good as if you'd got calipers and got them exactly right
  20. I like Instagram over any other social media. It is what it is. It stands and falls on who you follow. Mine are splicing, climbing and Barbeque and Grilling pages!
