what a stupid driver to think he would of made it through that.
  6. whatever you do avoid the makitas, they are cheaply made and the 2 we had at work were crap and fell to bits. i have been told that echos are good saws but they are also quite flimsy, but they are OK if it is just you using it and make sure it is well looked after. i have no experience with husky top handles, but have heard that they have a lot of carb problems. i have got a stihl 200t and it has never let me down and it will take the knocks etc that a cheaper saw wouldnt.
  7. you might want to know that lantra and NPTC share an office in stoneleigh.

  11. is that perspex that you have against the back of the cab?
  12. for cleaning sap off hands you can use mayonaise. i have used it and it works a treat, and just lifts the sap off your hands!
  13. do you work for landrover, or do they just pay to promote them?
  14. just think about what you say, and be as specific as possible. spend as much time as possible reading through the papers that you would of been given. good luck mate.
  15. my scariest moment is when i had just started in arb and was doing my school work experience, when lowering bits of willow, i was told to "sit into the rope" to put more of my weight on the end of it, but i got bored waiting for the climber to knock the lump off so i started playing with the end of the rope, and ended up tying a loop around my waist, as soon as i had done that, the lump was cut and as it fell down i was pulled forward by the weight of the timber and luckily i managed to stay on my feet. i S**t my pants that day.

    Quads

i had a honda 125 trike, that would happily pull the timberwolf and the jensen through gardens and round the yard, and now i have a honda 250 quad which pulls most things, but it could do with a little more power and 4wd at times.
  17. Try speaking to simon from beechwood, whos name on here is big boss beechwood, and ask him for timber man bobs number. He comes and collects in an artic with a timber crane on it.
  18. i did a conifer hedge a little while back and there was loads of pigeon eggs in it.
  19. try the stihl website, and go to the know how section, then the tree encyclopedia, and it is a really comprehensive tree guide.
