    Major Project

I have got to do a major project for college that is arb related. it has got to be a research project that can be fairly easily done by me, but i am stuck what to do it on:confused1:. Any suggestions? cheers.
  2. i dont think that i am being taken advantage of, and i am above minimum wage.
  3. if had not already had my own ppe which i was willing to use my boss would of got it for me, and he is getting me a pair of stretch airs over the next few weeks as my hiflex need replacing.
  4. i get on with my Tachyon really well and it seems to be hard wearing so far, and i would really reccomend it.
  5. I know, it has proper s£!t me up:scared1:, and hopefully i have learnt this time, and it wont be happening again. And i do listen to you but what I was doing was being lazy with my positioning rather than not listening, but in the future I'll be taking more notice of when bbb says take your time, and of what you say.
  6. cheers for that Bob, that seems to make more sense.
  7. basically today one of my lecturers at college who is a LOLER inspector said that your kit has to be LOLERd by whoever you work for, and has to be inspected by a LOLER inspector sent out by the insurance company, and if you leave that company that you work for, or go and work for someone else it invalidates that LOLER certificate that your kit had:confused1:. i thought that was ridiculous, and surely the LOLER certificate would be the kits, and it dosent matter who you are working for as long as your kit has been LOLERd less than 6 months ago, you could carry that LOLER certificate "with the kit" so to speak. can any one clear this up please and explain exactly how i get my kit LOLERd and how it all works. cheers Joe
  8. the best i've found for them is honey brothers so far and there price is £212.69 inc VAT, they might do you a deal on a few pairs if you speak nicely to them?...
  9. i know this, it was completely my fault basically being lazy with my positioning i think, and it has shook me up a little bit and just proved to me how easy it is to cock up, cheers for the advice all.
  10. oh ok then cheers for that andy.
  11. hi all, i had a little accident up a tree the other day with the 200t and my hiflex , and they need to be replaced. are the stretch airs actually any better, and whats the stretch airs stiching quality like compred to the hiflex? cheers Joe
  12. finally finished it then bart!
  13. im only on £30 a day but im only 17, but have been working for the same firm for nearly 2 years whenever not at school or college (every holiday and most saturdays), i have all my own ppe, climbing kit and self funed cs30, 30.1 and 30.2 and i climb a couple of times a week. i know its not great but the firm that i work for are very good to work for, flexible around college and i dont complain about pay because they are so sound to work for.
  14. i had the timberland ones which were comfy and you could feel what you were doing, but they fell apart after about 6 months.
  15. it certainly looks like it has got more ground clearance than the standard timberwolf tracked machines.
  16. i just use a timber hitch and a series of half hitches even if the rope has a spliced eye this still usually works even when installing the rope in a cambium saver from the ground with a throw line.
  17. its got to be easy because i passed it.
  18. Whats the difference between the white and orange handles? i use stihls so please dont laugh!
  19. why couldn't it just be climbed, have the top taken out and sides off, and then felled?
