  1. Worth every penny imo. Only 43000miles If that was lhd and over here I’d snap it up! what do you think it’s worth @wicklamulla?
  2. Well done for completing the job! I remember when i first started, the lead climber went mental at me for cutting 30cm out then cutting the pegs off - all those little pegs need fxxxing picking up!! Pegs are unnessary and give a false sense of security, they're only good for your rope half hitching them and getting stuck, branches hanging up on them and getting stuck, stabbing your guts, face, balls when you gaff out. Ripping clothing and generally being annoying little wxxkers!
  3. I must admit Paul, I do admire your traveling around, working around, looking around ways
  4. Yep, defiantly the best tool for this job! drove inside the housing area too, along walkways, around playgrounds, nimble and no ground damage (helps the grounds frozen though!)
  5. Last weeks job plus Monday and Tuesday this week moving wood 40 odd trees down, chipped on site where possible and stems away. Plus team 2 took a break one day to rig down a dying ash, chip on site, log up rest. 8 hours total to drive the logs out (plus drove out some logs from other recent works Monday morning, loading containers tues arvo)
  6. You’re right @slack ma girdle, i dropped a log or two today exactly there! I’m sure they could be protected a bit better though? Amazing price! Will be interesting what you make of them @Big J, discount for two?
  7. Ah, sorry, i googled Logbullet and it looked almost identical to the Kinetic, i assumed it was model name or something, whats the fully loaded logbullet cost? sorry
  8. Looks good, haven’t looked at them for a while, the original ones had big drawbacks apparently, which look to have been rectified (no reverse drive for example) What’s a fully loaded Kenetic cost? With crane extension, joysticks, winch, lighting etc? And weight?
  9. Yeah they’re getting expensive, then again alstor has jacked their prices up too! Too whack alstor here is over 80k! Id like a go on the diesel 8000 bison, see what the difference is. This 6000 seems thirsty (might only be noticing its consumption as its running aspen mind!)
  10. Had it out again today, and tomorrow too. get more and more impressed each time I use it! This is was this afternoons work, 4hours, 100-400m extraction route
  11. Cool that you can get the grinder on the back of the ranger @Tree Man Tom
  12. who then works for a guy charging a grand a day, subbing out for 300.......
  13. Am i the only one who thinks the title is misleading? No-ones been ripped off, first quote was a bit high thats all, no trees been cut, no moneys changed hands I too normally put a high price on customers i don't like, i can see why the price left was high!
  14. Donk, MAM vehicle OR trailer GTW or GCW vehicle, vehicles load, trailer and trailers load all combined. the typical landrover (not all) has a MAM of 3,5t and GTW of 7t the LR on its own cannot weigh 7t from the link you provided:
  15. Not on my bench, but next to it, new throttle cable and lever on the chipper, AMAZING service and delivery from @arbrepservices And whilst the tool box was off added some rubber to its base to stop bits sliding/vibrating on the metal-that had been annoying me since getting the chipper!
  16. Yep!
  17. Couple recent jobs, well the last two I actually photographed! half dead oak to monolith, priced 3guys to rig etc over new roof, ornamental lamp, fence, sewage system, but decided to have an easy morning and employ one of the co’s I occasionally climb for. (Can be allergic to social media hence the name being scrubbed out) Photos really don’t do it justice, grapple saw and operator made light work of it and a lime, would have been an easy short day but bloody strong winds and snow blowing towards the building on the left and logshed behind made it a rigathon. 1 up 1 down, tractor making light work of the ground work though, felled after last shot
  18. The stability was a concern, but then, Vermeer, Rayco and Carlton all make similar looking machines without problem? Then the Vermeer 272 I’ve been using is simmilar width and never rolled, plus stumps to be ground tend to be in nicer access places-lawns, not like the places the tracked chipper needs to go. Rarely do you need to travel on a side slope, just take it straight up/down instead. And then the £:hp ratio was too tempting!
  19. FINALLY it arrived and finally in the Bandit club
  20. Like rich said, or tried to say plus I found those massive armchair looking leg pads nipped my thigh and occasionally extremely uncomfortable, something I’ve never experienced with the TM. There were a few other niggles but the twisting and the pads were the main ones @silky fox i remember thinking it’d perhaps suit the more sturdy, just got into the job at 40, type climber who’s not jumping around trees. But unlike Rich, I diddnt give it a long tryout (diddnt want to tbh, just wanted my tm back!)
  21. After 6 years of tree motions I brought a simarghu, shortly after, another new TM was ordered. Did not get on with the simarghu
  22. Then we just need a cheap Chinese hobby to die early and Peteb with a good old uk GM to take victory well that’s a supprise, back on track!
  23. IF mark, I said IF I were in the market for a little chipper as it stands my Jensen is a German tank driving over neutral Sweden and when the bandit arrives (if it ever does, more chance of pigs flying it seems) I can have a tracked America vs Germany battle.
  24. If i were in the market for a little chipper, id play it safe with a greenmech. Both the cheapo's and the greenmech will depreciate the same amount of £coin (percentage wise, the greenmech far less) Both will do the job, but the greenmech should be pretty much problem free, easy to change blades, no downtime, good dealer backup can that be said about the cheapo's? 5 years down the line you should still be able to easily sell the GM and get back a good wad of cash, 3,5k perhaps, good for downpayment on a bigger machine, the cheapo, 400 quid if you're lucky/can find a buyer/its not on the scrap heap, not a great help for downpayment on a bigger machine (unless its a CS100 )
  25. Yeah, but where'd you earn 7% a year?
