  1. Exactly “to some” it has value, hows the log goblins going to know if the wood stacked at the side of the road is valuable to that particular contractor if it’s just “lying around” without anyone around to ask? Brilliant idea to offer free wood to the goblins though.
  2. Nice! I’ve often thought of doing similar
  3. Out of curiosity, does Greenmech charge any extra for a special colour?
  4. I buy kit from the U.K. and make a substantial saving...
  5. What'd that be, 3m3? that'd be about 900kg plus a few hundred extra for the tipper body?
  6. Anyone got any views on the ability of a defender 130 crew cab carrying a 700kg grinder on the original buck? On paper its fine, but in reality? With focus on drivability/how much it'd sit down?
  7. Done a quick one at the start of the year, theres honestly naff all between them, both awesome saws
  8. Why on earth would you do that?
  9. Can anyone help with belt tension on a Bandit ZT1844? The manual talks about hydraulic pump belt tension. But nothing about belt tension for the belts to the cutter wheel? Im guessing its a generic page for the rest of the range which is all hydraulic drive, but they seem to have forgotten the ZT1844 with its belt driven cutter wheel? Thanks in advance! @GlobalNewark
  10. Tilt bed or flat bed? Ive seen kranman operator here is repairing his very flash lightweight lightly built tiltbed. In "our" line of work it needs to be relatively heavily built imo
  11. Looks like an ifor looks good bigj
  12. Nice! Ive family over in Hotchkiss, Colorado is an awesome place, the people I met were so warm and accommodating. enjoy your trip
  13. A mates had both 230 and 280 tracked and will be going back to the smaller 230, lighter and more nimble which can be important in domestic gardens. Ive a 530t and a mate a 540t, 700kg difference and he’s commented on the better maneuverability of mine. paul, where in Colorado are you going?
  14. Yep, really happy with the site Steve done for me
  15. 461 is a 460 replacement, 462 is a 461 replacement plus a helluva lot more! id wait for the 462
  16. Same timescales I had when I partially severed my thumb tendon. Tendons take longer to heal than bone and very important to heal correctly
  17. Yes The one next to its coming out next year
  18. Really starting to enjoy grinding now with the extra power of the bandit. Jobs that i would have expected to take a long day with the vermeer are now being done before lunch
  19. Todays Jobs, fair drive to an Elm to fell and cut up, onto a cherry to top, then thuja to finish off (customer had made a start) finished with cutting a few planks for outside tables for the local nursery.
  20. Yeah, day rate, customer picks you up on their boat, meet at the jetty at 08:00, back at the jetty 15:00, do what you can in the time on the island. cutting wedges out of a 5ft dia log with a 50cc saw will be painful and very time consuming. Remember you’ll also need to get correct PPE which will be harder to sell on after. Find someone with a 90cc saw, couple new chains, files and fuel to cut it to 30cm rings ready to split. the amount you’ll loose in kit depreciation for this one off job and excess fuel running a little saw so much will pay a hefty way towards a pro for a day, then cost in your time too and the pro works out cheaper!
  21. I thought the turbo thing was because the turbo can still be spinning at maybe 200,000RPM, turning the engine straight off results in the turbo still spinning but dry. Letting it idle first is to let the turbo loose RPM before turning the engine off and subsequently oil supply which lubes and cools the bearings. Be interesting if someone more knowledgeable can give the right answer! Try starting your machine at -10 Woodworks and try driving fast, it won't, oils too thick, all components work harder trying to force the treacle about, be kind and let the oil circulate on idle a minute or two
  22. That’s a very old can!
  23. Whats the price and legal load capacity of that RUFT3500 please @Spinner @Paul Mullany
  24. Personally I’d avoid rotatech and go on chainsawbars.co.uk

    bark.com

Similar things here in Sweden. Its a a race to the bottom though, cheapest price wins, “limited” to 10 company’s able to buy the details.
