  1. quite pricey, well its relative, and a one off payment. around 410 from these guys MUDSTUFF.CO.UK, Meck Lock Anti Theft System, Land Rover Defender Solutions: West Yorkshire

  4. out of curiosty, whats the minumum a 1 man band requires?
  5. we use picus, but i was really impressed with the idea of thermal imaging, being able to asses the ENTIRE tree for deformaties rather than just a slither with the picus for example, and the fact the guy i was talking too (andrew mcgowan??) said you could survey hundreds of trees a day rather than a maximum of a dozen with picus battery life/time taken to survey has got to be a consideration. also he said allong with assessing the whole tree, you can scan for bats too
  6. yeah freds still one of my groundies, he never changes! think bens packed tree work in??? dont quote me on that though, heard he sold his chipper, and i know he's been at crc teaching welding and metalwork fulltime for getting on a year now. i'll probabally see his uncle tommorrow, so can ask if you like. hows you anyway mate?
  7. me about to sound dumb, but is the spider jack simmilar to deans thing? when my ropes eventually dry im gonna try the Armour pruss that marky bolam gave me and tie the VT shorter may help with the pantin
  8. well finally got a shot at using the pantin today to access a tree of heaven from the ground (survey in town, parked in multistory, too far to carry ladders!) prob a good 30-35ft assent. got a few Q's, how can i stop spinning round?! also, is it easier (diddnt have time to experiment) if i were to put a sling between the bridge, and HC, as i found the HC in the perfectly wrong place cool little gizmo though, can see it being used quite alot ropeguides ace!
  9. Nice truck! nice jobs rich
  10. Ladders are great, they get you high enough off the ground, that youre spike marks arent visible:thumbup:
  11. neighbours subsidence not caused by poor build quality, or a load of connys next to it?
  12. looks mint from my limited milling experience, i wouldnt use anything smaller than an 880 for milling over 26"

  15. ??? what style/year ranger? about 5 years ago i used to drive an older style one, rear had a LSD as standard (beam axle) which is as good as diff lock imo, if not better as less chance to break anything. and when you engaged 4wd, drive went to the front wheels which were independant suspension, can you diff lock ind suspension? anyway so in effect you had 3wd minimum. . . i think. twas a looong time ago diff locks and winches??? buy a landy and be done with it!
