  1. I think the difference is there is only 2 of use so we have to let gravity do the work whilst keeping the sides secure so that the wind cannot get underneath it. Have experimented this time with a doorless end with plastic wrapped around end bar and tensioned to first bar. Looks good but time will tell. I dont get on well with doorways and forklifts they never seem to be wide enough or high enough so hopefully this is the solution.
  2. This one only a little single span baby on wooden side rails the only complication the incorporation of a shade sheet on the first 4 bays. Took us 2 hours to put on and 4 hours to fasten down the sides. Lengthways will be fastened tomorrow leaving it with weights on overnight. Forecast another good day tomorrow so you have no excuse for getting one done.
  3. Plastic is always fresh from the suppliers but I wonder how long it has been sat on there roll before they have cut it off. My suspicion is that it is to sharp a fold as on the 40 mtr tunnels we always unroll the same way and have noticed the splitting starts from the end that was nearest to the centre of the roll. The last tunnel where splits occurred was the most noticeable with 2 folds splitting at different points on the first 20 mtrs the remaining 20 mtrs absolutely perfect and would have lasted at least another 3-5 years. Perfectly still day today. Bet you cant guess what me and the other half are upto today.
  4. I have a browns sliding top and its probably the safest circular saw you could ever use.
  5. Expecting to get a free cover if not then will certainly give XL a ring as I cannot afford to keep using this visqueen rubbish. Put another cover on this time last year and already it is starting to split.
  6. Finally have the man from visqueen coming to look at why the plastic on the last 3 tunnels split where it was folded on the roll. Will report the outcome.
  7. Having enough help is always our problem we normally manage with myself and the better half.
  8. Your a braver man then me. Has to be perfectly still for me even to attempt to put a tunnel on.
  9. If anyone wants to learn how to put a cover on a large polytunnel I will be installing a 25 mtr in the next couple of weeks weather permitting and then a 40 mtr tunnel around the 1st week in Sept. First one attached to rails and the second dug into the ground. Quite willing to show anyone but be prepared to work and expect a bit of anglo saxon language.
  10. Good job your not my neighbor as everything gets cut with a 6ft pole pruner as far as I can reach from my own land. All the evidence is burnt in a 45 gall drum. No complaints to date.
  11. <p>Yes still taking woodchip</p>

  12. Bit of ancient history http://www.ancient-wisdom.co.uk/stmichael.htm Really fascinating once you get into it
  13. Only tree I know growing on Ley lines is the Glastonbury thorn.
  14. I am based in Lancs. My Holder is a little A15 which is very handy for doing woodland paths etc. In the market for an A50 or A60 Agri spec to replace a useless MF550.
  15. Bits are available for just about everything if you have a particular problem part then I do have a direct contact at the factory in Germany so long as you have the specific part number. As for Lamberhurst there a waste of space.
  16. If I have not managed to make hay before September then its out with the old Robinson flail and chopped straight into the trailer towed behind the flail or if the grounds to wet for the trailer then straight into IBC's on the back of the flail.
  17. Please send us details as I have been looking for one for a while.
  18. I think a forklift on the back is a handier tool especially if your alpine seat rotates.
  19. The one on eArborist does look expensive when compared to whats available in Europe. With the euro exchange rate equipment is getting cheaper even including delivery.
  20. Have a little Holder A15 used with a mulcher for forest paths and powers the palax log processor. Will also pull stems up hillsides where I cannot get in with the MB Trac and forwarder. Looking for a Holder A55 or A60 at the moment but there a bit like hens teeth to find.
  21. Solar RHI 10.16 with no limit Biomass RHI 4.40 with tier 1 limit. Seems a no brainer to me why burn 25% of your wood when you can sell it all. And no I will not divulge the working of my solar kiln as that is my competitive edge.
  22. Depending on what tap size you have on the bottom of the IBC you can get fittings to just screw on the tap which you can then connect together with "T" connectors and flexible pipe using jubilee clips. We have 5 linked together for polytunnel water supply covered in foil insulation to prevent algae and freezing. http://www.dvcontainers.co.uk/category.asp?catID=6
  23. Have got an engine which came off my kindling splitter when I converted to electric but it does not have electric start.
  24. Its rubbish. It degrades within a couple of years as its not UV stabilized then splits along the threads. It lasted about 3 years on our exposed site we normally get 5-7 years from the normal visqueen we use. The plastic sheet used on lorry curtainsides is very good but difficult to keep under tension.
  25. Where putting tin on two field shelters replacing the green mushroom plastic already on the tunnels. We have 1 solar tunnel to replace which will be clear plastic and a growing tunnel which will be opaque.
