1. I overhauled the chipper and have rebuilt it and repaired it previously so not too bad with them. But electrics on them get annoying to be fair. This was just a strange fault but found it today thankfully. The plug from the control box where it splices in to the cable feeding to the relay had got wet/dirty and wasn't forming a contact. Cleaned it and sprayed with WD and the rollers kicked in to life. Think it's to do with the safety feature of the hopper having to be connected for the rollers to stay on. Phew! Thanks for your input guys
2. I'll check the relay tomorrow. Is that in the engine compartment where you'd override the no stress? Is there anything else that can make the rollers do this. As I say, press and jam the button and it chips just fine. So can the switch be at fault, low hydraulic oil etc etc. Just to rule all out. Cheers, great on here as you guys like helping out
3. Hey. I've a timberwolf 150 (2001 so getting on a bit). The rollers only work if I push the green feed button and jam it (used a twig). Is this likely to be the switch itself or am I overiding something by jamming the switch? What is the switch itself called on a let's list and is it easy to rewrite a new one if it is this? Thanks all!
4. Thanks for the responses. I'll look up where you are Richard as you're in a viable distance. Tree Station are another I've looked on to. 20 mins away and they take chip so a few good sites have come up over the week.
5.
Hi m8 there is a tipper not far from airport Salford take junction before airport for the fruit terminal if you put in the arb talk search tip sites then look for the address and the lad name and number will be the I'll see if I can get it

6. I work in Tameside (Greater Manchester) and am finding it increasingly difficult to tip wood chip. Just seeing if anyone knows who to approach for free tipping, or suggestions of what others do. I have been supplying fishing clubs, cemeteries etc, but space is soon filled.. Thanks for any help!!
7. So you reckon the 10x8x5 chip box on my wide-cab NKR may be a little overloaded then ... It wouldn't tip last week, even with it's uprated hydraulic ram. That is either the good or bad thing with the Isuzu, it just doesn't seem to show the weight, it just drives away without flinching... When I change it, it will most likely be for the 5 ton model, the npr I think.. That way I can carry ten ton )
8. The ride is ok with a pile of mulch on the back mines a wide cab btw, so you can't reach the passenger to tap them on the shoulder even. So luckily we all fit quite well,,,,
9. Japanese trucks prove popular due to their payloads and reliability. The smaller trucks are the base of much larger trucks so you get the benefit. Example, I have an isuzu NKR. It would happily carry a couple of ton, but even legally it's a little over 1600 kg payload! It has ali sides and a straight through tool box. Compared to the transit I also drive it's in a different league in terms of carrying loads. Also a 7 ton train weight over the transits 5, and it has an exhaust brake which means less wear on the pads.... 3 litre engine just completes it!
10. It's a never ending debate as, like all vehicles, you get good and bad. As I said, had mine over 4 years and drive loads of vehicles. I'm yet to find a pickup that handles as well and cruises down the motorway with such ease. Used to drive an 04 reg Ranger and it was like a ship in a storm. Navara wise, you'll get a good or a bad one like with any vehicle. Mine went not because if it's lack of ability, I just found it too nice to be spilling chain oil in and spraying with wood chip. Something to consider if you want a work vehicle. It will work, but that shiny metallic paint won't be shiny for too long
11. I owned a Navara Aventura for over 4 years. Nothing went wrong with it except a new clutch at 60k (towing a trailer etc so not bad).... Live high up and it was brilliant in the snow with its General Grabber tyres (not starting a tyre debate). It went in fields, towed a trailer and a chipper and then drove between Manchester and Preston in comfort on the motorway.... Have driven L200, Hilux and Ranger and found the Navara to be the most comfortable with the most spec....(I kind of liked it, can you tell)...
12. I've a 57 reg NKR. Great for carrying the weight, plus with exhaust brake it's great getting down steep hills with said weight... However, anyone any idea of how you get change the side-light bulb without removing the door!?.. You can get to the headlight main beam underneath the truck. Removing the front panel doesn't give access to the light unit and tilting the cab means nothing .... You can see the back of the bulb through the crack of the door when open, but can't get to the bulb.... Am I missing something so obvious here....
13. Update - Removed the hydraulic hoses at their lowest points and drained the oil in that had been pumped to the rollers. Topped up the oil with new so it filled the hoses. And it now works! Air or dirt maybe? Not 100% on what I've done but it seems to have sorted it, rollers pull stronger than ever...
