  5. Leaving saws running on there sides on a road so they take themselves for a walk into the live traffic lane, or just generally leaving things running unnecessarily. Fighting and struggling to get a twisty horrible branch into the chipper when a running saw is rite next the there feet..... Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Today's also massive popular This picture gives a scale of stem which might be getting left as a monolith, decision getting made in morning by council officer. New helper got picked up today which is a nice step forward in comfort and performance with trailer on Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app

  10. Definitely not a problem with my old 1, could happily pack even wet greenery against the headboard of the RB and apart from a bit of chipper poo under the machine never made any mess on the ground. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Is it internal hydraulic system or plug into tractor? If it has its own pump start by checking belts are tight and not slipping and check fluid levels as well. I guess you are running it in 1000 pto.... what I used to do was con the stress control a bit by revving up to about 950 getting out and press the button to set the control box then take the tractor up to 1000 which gave it a little larger operating area, we we re using 160hp mind but your 120ish should be no problem as I used 1 on a 100hp mog for a while with no problems. The other thing we found was with particular crooked bits if you fed them in at the left side of the roler so the curve was on the shape of a c as you looked at it it would feed in easier than the opposite was because of the shape of the space behind the roles. Like every machine little things can make a big difference keep us informed as I keep thinking about getting another 1. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Sounds blunt to me or something wrong with the hydraulic feed, possibly pressure relief valve is opening too soon so roles aren't getting enough pressure to pull stuff in, I've used 3 of these chippers and all been good strong feeders only been a bother occasionally on very fluffy conifers getting wrapped on top roler Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Bugger was hoping for some saw deals like last year as was going to get two 550xpg's for a job starting in Jan. Ah well. Some chainsaw pants and Stine t-shirt it is then. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. I tend to find them in roadside ditches where bt have just discarded them when doing cutting back jobs for the council and simply do the right thing by tidying them up and putting them to use again 😉 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. Pointing tree stakes in a sawmill for days on end was probably the dullest days of my working like, too much noise to talk to anyone and am quite fond of my fingers so had to concentrate. Did 1000's of the things. Think this was closely followed by banging the things into the ground on feldom Moor in a blizzard the following winter all for £1.50 hr as a apprentice. 16. Oldy but he has a point, good quality isn't always the best payer which ain't good. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. 2.8 ton Bobcat I use with grab has a float position on blade lever which I've also used to great affect for tidying up scraps and is a really nice powerful stable machine. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Amazing what's available with hydraulics and a bit of imagination 👍 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. Yeh but it'd be very economical to run... Stack whole days worth of cutting in hopper, start up, hit feed, 30seconds later turn off, all done 😉 Any in the UK Dean? Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Going to steel that idea and use the big welding magnet iv got. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app

  23. 10mm x 80mm Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Tether wasn't intended to hold the chipper but support the A frame for top link as Base plate is 8mm and took some serious cutting! Was just talking about some foot plate skids tonight actually bob to protect it a bit should someone drive a bit before lifting, just need some more 80mm flat bar to make em. Next main thing is to get the chamber cleaned out, change the hydraulic oil and filter and get the bugger spinning again to see how it runs! Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. Frame and linkage built last night and tonight. Anybody recon I should put a Brace from higher up the a frame onto the chipper body of the lip the bairing sits on for more strength? Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
