  1. Today was remove a old Holm oak, shame but a report said fell and council agreed and lifted the tpo so down it came. Heavy stuff. Fairly well gon in the stump which made grinding easy 👍 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. Handy thred as now running two tractors my little 450ltr tank is looking rather small! Company I use also happy to put into drums so get 600 at a time to tip into next price bracket if I got over 1000 it'd be a little cheaper again so might get something a bit bigger soon Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. 325 after that incident that's when got new saw nd got it on 3/8 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Ran a 20" on my 1 for a few years now since new and the new gray husky bars seem quite good after I destroyed my sugi.... Along with the saw it was attached to 😭 Don't think I'd want Togo much bigger as the balance will be miles out, better to swap to a bigger saw imo Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. They run well, stronger chain, takes more abuse, easier to sharpen well for lads and less teeth already. Had 15" of Rob but got a 20" husky bar from dealer from new on 1 saw which I believe was actually for a rancher whichever saw that is. Just works well for me not having to keep a stock of different chain and just make as needed. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Why not swap the 560 onto 3/8 like we have and I now have a 550 2x560 2x372 and 390 all running same chain so get a real at a time and make up as needed, works out a lot cheaper. Also think the 560 is better on the bigger chain Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. Just got a T131 from Brian robbinson machinery in East Cowton and very happy with it, pulls the big botex trailer no problem and actually seems very good on fuel for its size. Yes it takes a bit more turning around than a smaller 4 cylinder tractor but the big nose give it a lot of stability and quiet a nice ride on the road. I'd stick with a hitech model as a lot less electronic stuff like simple levers onto hydraulic valves rather than push button stuff. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. No, above Catterick on the dry fire range. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. Better late than never 😉 And before anyone says anything it's not bee line being used it's arborplex which according to retailer is safe to use Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. Looking forward to some video of it feeding itself or better still if your around this way send me a message and I'll try come have a look. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Going well and definitely a good decision to get the st8 for its hungry appetite for eating everything we give it! Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Definitely not! Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. You got more than we did, really miss having much these days, so glad I got a snow fix on holiday before Christmas. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. Not today but some from this week Two valtras working together getting a few more oak sticks out for a client on an ongoing job. A few from Wednesdays storms And a massive spruce rootplate to get back in its hole so soldiers don't fall down the hole on some training grounds Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. Thanks Eddie, good call talking to Andy, he was spot on helpful at killworth about the hydraulics. It's not as fast as the pto at back as I run that in 1000 At tickover it's slow but increase rpm to around 1600 and it's around a walking speed so respectable enough to pull a tree over or a few bits within reach as the slower line speed is easily made up for in the time saved having to take the botex off and swap round but like I said if I was on a lot of skidding work I'd swap it onto the back shaft. 16. Little modifications done, fully functional on front of tractor a still retains full pulling capacity. 👍 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. Bonus is, undo two bolts and the motor slips off, put normal pto on and swap onto back of tractor and run it in 1000 and you have a fast skidding winch with tractor running just off tickover. Managed to pull this oak ok so should be up to self recovery. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Farmi forestry winch converted to hydraulic which will drag valtra and trailer, not got proper stuck YET to try it fully but also makes a good dozer for clearing a way in. Just over 3k for the lot. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. You'll be luck to life a winch on and off the size you'll need to pull a mog. Ok to swap about in yard but not on site and definitely not lift onto a locker to store! Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Valtra are easy, switch on dash turns them off and flips up to cab lights that are Road friendly with high and low beam controlled on stork same as fronts, also found a handy little plug behind bonnet that comes live when you do this where I can plug in the marker lights.👍 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. That's steep for digger, about 260 - 300 round here. A little loader has less wear parts than a chipper so possibly slightly cheaper to run but depends on chipper how it compares on purchase price. Think about the same really. Better to price on job as could get same money in less time as quite specialist bit of gear with not so many around. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. Yes, bloody hopeless, either went off nowhere near where I intended or line got snarled round the end and went nowhere. Tryed tieing the line to a tennis ball which worked better for directional and released better but was lethal bouncing around the crown and not heavy enough to come down, went back to just lobing the ball for the dog with it. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. That is interesting, always quite liked the 252 as being a nice simple machine which if you want can tackle a decent sized stump but lacked traction especially on slopes tracked 1 would make it really usable especially as it looks quite narrow. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Here's video of 1 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. But he is usesing 3-6 as disk spins opposite way to conventional pedestrian grinder so as to discharge chips sway from operator and tractor Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
