  1. Upsy daisy?? However it's spelt!!
  2. That doesn't look like such a wee tractor to be lifting one bag. I'm sure my poor old David brown could lift a bag if I use a strap/hook to lift and move them around. I'll be a bit stuck if it doesn't!! As you say though, the smaller bags should be about right. I wondered about the possibility of moving with a sack cart (with a larger base welded on)
  3. I'm keen to give the vented bags ago too. Partly so that it is easier to gauge what your stock levels are like. Partly because keeping the logs off the ground on pallets makes it a pain to load up the truck with the tractor bucket. I am also fed up with answering the same question time after time... How big is a load? .... Well it's a loose load tipped out approximately... It's got to be better to be accurate, clean and dry and able to do multiple small drops too. So I'd be pleased to get in on the order too if poss. Im assuming the more you order the cheaper it gets. I'll send a pm too. Cheers James
  4. Have you compared it with a pack of pork scratchings Dean? Just the right amount of fats and salt in that. You could have two packs if you really feel healthy.
  5. If you search for Jean Pain on YouTube you can see all kinds of different methods which he has tried. A mate of mine had a quick try and with a 3m diameter pile it was quite surprising. I intend to have a bash one day. Heating greenhouses, log stores, workshops etc. We just had it plumbed up to the mains water at the bottom of the pipe and hot water comes out of the top. If you can get a good circuit and add a pump it could be really useful.
  6. Its a lot of money though just to make it match the colour of your sign writing though:001_smile: Looks nice
  7. The first guy I worked with (about 15 yrs ago now) was west Indian. Good climber and a strong guy. I think he's still going strong and he must be close to 50 now. At a guess anyway. Hope I haven't offended him if he reads this and knows who he is. But to the original point, no I don't suppose there are alot at it when you think about it.
  8. If its any help Dean, I would definitely get another Hilux though. No idea about the Izuzu apart from that I think they do right with the 3l engine. I think the 2.5l are being screwed a bit too much to get the power....Navara's going pop for example. Can't believe the new VW pick up is only 2l:confused1:
  9. I was told by the insurer that if you cease trading or whatever and let the policy end without renewing it, you can pay for a kind of 'one off' policy as they described it. It would be to cover for what they suggest be the next 6 years after the last report. Without this 'one off' policy they said you would not be covered.
  10. That's what I'm thinking. Wouldn't be the first time I thought an insurance company was a little bit cheeky!!
  11. That is the opposite of what my insurers told me too. It was about 10years ago but wouldn't have thought the general rules had changed. I was told you are only covered if you are in a policy. That's why I gave up on the idea cos I couldn't be bothered with a lifetime of insurance. I hope you are right cos it means I may as well do reports if ever asked.
  12. Also, Professional Indemnity insurance covers you for the time of the policy. So if you do the report today and you are insured then that's fine. But if the tree falls in two years time, and you haven't renewed the policy, you would not be covered. Therefore you will need cover for however long the trees are still around ... As far as I thought on the matter anyway. But as you say, if you condemn the trees anyway and put a time limit for felling there shouldn't be a problem really.
  13. Customer: Could you just take about another 12 inches off and that would look perfect?
  14. All he needs now is a bigtrack and trailer and he doesn't need to worry about transporting kindling to the fireplace.
  15. I can see you with my high powered telescope that looks round corners and over hills. Stop playing with your phone and get on with some work.
  16. Honestly, I'll have a look in the morning at the remaining bits to see if any other slices would be any good. At the most there will probably only be 2 I bet. If there is anything decent then I'm sure we can sort something out. You and bob asked, so first come first served in my opinion. I'm sure we will probably meet up at a show or whatever so maybe you could get us a beer!! But... Don't hold your breath. Only three cuts and the image was totally different. It depends on how thick the slice can be without drying out too quickly and cracking. Any advice ?? Would be a shame if the one I've got was damaged.
  17. Let the bidding begin!! But unfortunately there was only the mirror image of it that was as good. (guess who got that) The next cut was not too bad but the next was starting to look like normal round growth rings.
  18. I showed the mrs a while ago and she didn't believe it was real. But it is. No sharpie. Bob, I'll have a look at the bits left. Chris had a piece. Mine is about 2'' thick so could be cut again but I was worried it will get a big radial crack as it is, if it dries too quickly. I showed the customer and she quite fancied it!!! I told her it was worth £500. Ha ha!!
  19. Maybe the bigger pics would be better!!
  20. Found this today. Luckily the guys were standing in the right place to see it otherwise it would have ended up firewood. Hopefully a bit of sanding and oiling and it will stand out a bit better.
  21. I might be being a bit thick here but are the stumps high? Is that not valuable timber? Anyway, some nice big stuff there. Makes a change from the smooth swinging and balancing. Looks like a lot of big banging and crashing with some lovely high tops dropping out.
  22. I think I'm still in favour of 200 too. Chainbrake doesn't 'click' nicely. Seems to need a bit more of a press. On/off switch doesn't just flick off nicely. It needs a bit of a press fully home into off position. I'm also not so sure about full chisel chain on them too. Yes, it cuts fast when sharp and cutting 'with care'. But sometimes just digs in too much and you have to back off, pull out and start the cut again - Slower in my opinion. It does seem quite powerful and fuel consumption seems ok. Can't say I've noticed any increase really. All in all, I'd swap for a 2 month old 200 any day!!
  23. Paint by numbers. It's just a set up for someone to come along with a silky and prune way!!
