  1. Looking bad in Azerbyjahn. Tanks ablaze as fighting erupts over disputed region WWW.BBC.CO.UK Heavy fighting erupts between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region. If you look carefully, one vehicle gets taken out with a Top Attack round, pretty sophisticated . K
  2. .... Hah! Wait till you see me with the Big Shot (tm) swearing takes on new levels. K
  3. Hmmmm bit of a knife edge here. Tree is demonstrably in decline ( evident fungal decay) as ' the tree owner' i would goodwill gesture 100 quid whilst 'your contractor' removed tree. However this aint the case i am surmising. If you cut roots to boundary for yr repairs / renovation ( defendable on a declining tree - it aint specimen tree after all) subsequent damage to health of tree would be hard to prove. Difficult . K
  4. Glad to see my tax money properly spent this time..... K
  5. Ooooo !! That was a bit below the belt ? and i dont mean the track barrow ( tho it was) K

  7. With the right kit you can do it huge. I buggered abt with two ring kilns and made a wage thru summer and it werent hard work. Plenty of broadleaf land owners happy for you to clean their woodlands out. K

  10. .... Yea.... Rub it in.... ? K
  11. I will go if you will, Mr Stubby. Not guaranteeing the ascent times, might be more Heroes of Tellemark than Reg Coates ? K
  12. See you at the Job center monday then. K
  13. I would always recommend SRT over a doubled rope, the benefits are there. But to be clear - it aint foolproof and there have been a few bad falls. Possibly its the lack of training or understanding. Seen guy shoot rope right over crown to a base tie then ascend which cant be a safe practise ( but it worked!!!) But then doubled rope led us down the WAH regs debacle so dunno how one answer will fit all situations ( probably it wont ? ) SRT does give yr body ( and yr ropes) an easier time tho. K

  21. ... Didnt say it was ' difficult' I said it was a 'faff' ..... If it was 'difficult' I would get someone else to do it ! K
