  1. Knew an old lad in Ingatestone, bare knuckle fighter in his youth, could plaster a curved wall in his sunday suit, not a speck on him, absolutely flawless. You actually could not believe wot you were seeing as he worked. ? K
  2. Good tale ? i love those old bits of MoD crap, always interesting. K
  3. The obvious failure on this is yr walking under tree and thin small branches catch between yr lid an yr canopy and frankly, the RA MS on this is hilareous. It IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN , a heavy branch section hits you and crashes you onto yr saw for example - it is making you complacent with canopy deadwood. Though i may buy it just for walking around Croydon at night ? K
  4. Would it save you £60 a month? K
  5. Interesting cabin style thing in background ? K
  6. Dont be ridiculous! How on earth would you get a TREE machine harvester in a pub ? K
  7. .... And their tails off ? or is that just cats ? K
  8. Rake sand over. Reduces tripping and warns mower man to lift his cut. K
  9. I actually know that you open the tin first before eating ? K
  10. @Ratman put a tool in my hand and i can use it, anything. But a flappy bit of tin an drippy stuff - no chance ? K
  11. Looks cracking - can turn my hand to almost anything, but am fvckyng useless at plastering! K
  12. Well said - but dont run it on old mix ! K
  13. Then DONT start it! Empty out the fuel and put fresh mix in ? k
  14. Probly mostly Tax ? k
  15. Wet n warm for them i would say, seen a few big ones topped - still ok. Coppices ok too but think only under shade to prevent scorching. Favourite woodland tree of mine along with Larch- good timber. K
  16. Looks like we are ready for that now ? pity we have to let the yanks use it as we aint got the jets to fill it, probly shouldnt have sold off our entire fleet of Sea Harrier to them so it can sit in a desert, for spare parts....... ? k On board the Royal Navy's new aircraft carrier WWW.BBC.CO.UK For the first time, both British and American jets launch off HMS Queen Elizabeth.
  17. I have had a few good McCullochs over the years and spares ARE easily available ( much more than before thats t'web ) their worst aspect was they were sold in hundreds at B an Q to hundreds of idiots who couldnt mix fuel and blunted them cutting pallets then said ' wot a shit saw' K
  18. Guy Watson is a great bloke, very funny, did my Tree Inspectors ticket with him. Buy both as they are clear and easy field guides, that fit in yr rucksack. Claus book is more bedtime reading. But with those yr streets ahead of the game. K
  19. Its more the science behind tree failure than a guide to decay fungi, the Guy Watson book fr abt a tenner is yr best bet off Arb Association website. Nice field guide to fungi fr arborists. K
  20. Claus Matthecks Body Language of Trees an Gasping Housewives weekly seems to fit in my glovebox quite well. I particularly enjoy the hoover buyers guide. K
  21. ..... But in Laymans terms, that would be.... ? K
  22. Thankgod fr this. Cos the other one was rubbish and a pain to resolve ( in Unix based systems i use anyway) k
  23. I always consider you to be wide open to interpretation. K
  24. Single feed roller is fine. Long as the tin plate holds up it should be a little star. K ( the old 6" vermeers were single roller an they were cracking chippers)
  25. ....and 200+ epicormic limes contracts wont contradict you ( bread n butter I know ) K
