  2. Hi, Just want to thank everybody for the advice. We are 1 year later and the tree is healing fine. I attached a picture, I though you guys would appreciate it 😉 and I'll try to take one next year too.

  4. Hi, Thanks for the advice! I cleaned out the wound so it's self draining. I also read about treating the naked wood with mandarin oil and bees wax to prevent rotting. is this something you can encourage? I was also wondering if should remove the smaller branch on the edge of the wound.
  5. Hi, Last night a storm passed by and a major branch broke of ? It seems there was already a problem with the branch and I was wondering if this needs any special treatment? Because I don 't want that the upper part of the tree will break off over time As I recall correcrly, the tree is this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquidambar_styraciflua Any help would be very appreciated, because I don't want to lose this tree.
