  1. turns out cresto say there is a 10yr lifespan on the harness. petzl seem to say the same regarding their harnesses too. wouldnt of thought many working harnesses would last that long.

  7. remember a vid from graeme mcmahon from oz demonstrating srt assent and the vid looked really old.
  8. id second going and trying the gear on, id say as a general rule the more you spend the better the gear is and longer it lasts. i like arbortec breathflex trousers miendel woodwalker boots petzl vertex vent helmet . also have a search on here, millions of ppe threads and even more opinions! carl

  10. am i right in thinking that he had to come in from both sides to make the back cut and that he should of done the last cut on the other side of the tree in order to leave the maximum amount of hinge on the tension side? hope that makes sense! carl
  11. i wonder if they climbed up to install the pull line?? the chipper was also left within striking distance of the fell. wind- species- location- targets = dismantle. very lucky no one was hurt. carl
  12. lightweight and comfy bit cheaper than stretch airs and seem to be holding up so far. fit seemed a bit tight on the thighs tho. carl
  13. prefer the 12 " for top handles any bigger wood in the tree just get a back handle sent up much easier on the wrists etc. carl

  15. my honda (not the same model tho.)used to do that and there was a spring loose or missing underneath by the back wheels, sorry bit vague as it was a few years back, but could be worth a look as its an annoying fault! carl

  21. intresting thread in regards to the recent recall of the little echo pruning saw and how they have dealt with the situation compared with stihls response to the op,s email " deny all and put the blame on the user"! surly it cant be that hard to design an uprated bearing and hand them to all the unhappy 261 users? carl

    obviously not had a stihl 261 then!!!! seems to need a new needle bearing with every other fill of fuel.
