  2. Yeah Yeah. I know your a closet ladder user. I bet you have a sneaky little double rung one hidden under the bed that you whip out and have a little climb on when the missus is out.
  3. Second that. Works wonders.

    Fray Bentos

I found a 'Tender' just steak and a 'Boozy' steak and ale. Although since I'm getting fat its diet time! So I'm sticking to wotsits, kitkats and some thorton chocs washed down with a few guest beers:thumbup1: Well until I slim down to the physique of these guys anyway. Mmmmm I'm sure I have one or two knocking about at the back of the cupboard.....
  6. I saw a lecture with Ray Mears and even had a little chat with him:thumbup: I like the idea of roughing it but I just cant stand the cold either

    not happy

Did they get paid? If so I assume the client was happy with the work and damage. Just see if they want it repairing and charge accordingly:001_huh: Although I would bump up the costs for sorting out another contractors mess.

    My Day

If he was a proper old geezer he woulda been havin a right old moan at all the racket you were making! Probably will keep him going for a bit longer yet. As for the feather, nice in thought.
  9. Excellent stuff, a job well done. MEWP's maybe for girls but ladders are for men.
  10. Go on then...since its you. Although in my native tongue it means something very different:scared1: couldnt really say in an open forum but it involves a couple of midgets and a bucket of soppy frogs!!
  11. Cheers for the info. I just use a piece of old climbing line that usually has a nice splice in one end(due to nicking the thing with a saw:001_rolleyes:) and bowline on the other, 2 krabs and thats it. I know there are plenty of other fancy ways using small strops and clips but Ive never can be bothered to try them out:laugh1: I usually have the strop long enough so a can reach all the way to my left holding the saw in my left hand(attached to right hand side of harness). So the strop is fairly longish. The way I work I couldnt really ever have the saw not attached as it wouldnt last very long!
  12. Well done:thumbup1: Sounds like an awful lot of questions to use a basic machine though. IIRC all we had to do was a bit of a practical.
  13. That looked nasty!! Good to see it helped then:thumbup1: Not that Ill be relying on it though!
  14. Nice1 for posting that up. Not the type of experience I think anyone should have though! In that i mean learning from ones mistakes etc. Apart from other stuff mentioned it looks like the back cut was also too low to me. Glad he just got a nasty freight and nothing more.
  15. Do you think the blocking material did anything or was it just the thickness of the leather? Good to see no injury.
  16. How do you get it that low?
  17. I liked that. Pity about missing the money shot though! Just one question, why no strop on the 020 in the bucket?
  18. At least treble time. The minimum would depend quite a bit on how much you also have to pay the other crew member/s. I know for a fact I wouldnt be going out for less than a full days pay even if it was only a 10 minute job and I wouldnt expect anyone else to not get the same.
  19. Yeah no worries:thumbup1: Just dont shorten it to poooop, I hate that.
  20. Losing weight is easy this time of year. Just watch "I'm a celebrity" and eat what the contestants do, they all loose about 3 stone in as many weeks! Although it could be difficult to get a bit of kangaroo knob up your ways but I'm sure you can improvise. Funnily enough though I was thinking the same(not you getting fat but me also) Seem to have piled the weight on in the last 12 months or so and do start to feel 'slow' and bloated. Although being a fatty we can find loads of excuses to blame it all on, its allowed.
  21. For the customer YEAH! Not for you though! Well not unless your going to gob it at the bottom and leave.
  22. Quite possibly. I have climbed trees like this before but they have been stable enough and I have propped them up a bit even if it was with just some ladders to take the weight a little. If it does go though while your up there, well being pinned between that and a greenhouse wont be much fun. Its going to be very awkward though if theres a green house right underneath chogging it down, and is it worth taking the risk of climbing and still flattening the green house?
  23. Why should we use our real name? Besides how many signed up with a different user name then changed it later on to their real name? Anyway since I'm from the planet Zeiste no one can pronounce my real name of Xylszzisiaaooxthyolpooooop 'the third'
  24. You could end up with a few more windows on that side of the building! If your going to do that I wouldnt bother with the MEWP and just try to winch it off sideways with a gob in the base, maybe.
  25. Me either, well I wouldnt like anyone to be in that position tbh. Its just my guess that they probably didnt need it just thought they could take it. Anyway there are tax credits to help these people out.
