  1. Surely nothing is constant but weight is more accurate. I can see all the above becoming more of an issue with the demand increasing and margins thinning.
  2. See you fluffed it from the start. You shoulda ordered a CHINESE not a curry. Mine is still holding out also, I havent done a tap of work yet.

Some also have a hard seat, just to let you know in case you didnt.
  4. Love it. You know on some mobile phone forum some dealers are bitching about customers just wanting the cheapest price and not caring about support, customer care or professionalism. I bet theres also a few saying "No, stick to your guns, you only want the good ones, if we all lower our prices we will be working for nothing, dont sell yourself short," etc etc. Back the the thread though, I have a htc desire and wont recommend it, screen is poor in daylight and external speaker is poor ie sat nav. You cant really start comparing android phones to iphones unless you are only talking about using it as a phone!
  5. I was looking for info on a harness through google and found this site. How I wished I had used yahoo.

  8. As Bob says it depends on how they say what they say not what they say, I think:confused1: If she was half joking and having a bit of a laugh she woulda got a nice 'no'but also a bit of an explanation (plus we would of used the blower to get rid of as much dust as possible anyway) If she was serious then it woulda been a firm 'no' with a bit of well why did you park your car right there when you knew something was wrong and the emergency work has taken longer because we had to take care not to damage the car etc etc. Either way there would be no chance I would pay for a car wash! I mean come on if we are talking about being extra nice and possibly getting work from it (which I don't agree with anyway) then do you go and knock on eveyones door when the wind has sprayed sawdust 20 houses down and covered cars and paths in a bit of dust? I reckon a fiver a car plus 10 minutes would soon add up.

  10. You know the species of dog just by looking at a snapshot of its arse!
  11. I intend to work less and enjoy life more, otherwise whats the point! Although I am a lazy git. I'll work when I'm dead.
  12. Fair enough but do you think it is better inside your body than being spat out. Years ago people died at a very early age of simple things like deep cuts. From a H&S point of view, take some pain killers and see a dentist when they are available.
  13. Errr dont try and pull your tooth out but bursting an abscess isnt a bad idea since thats what your body is trying to do to it.
  14. Brilliant.
  15. Of course you should, then get a bit of whiskey and cloves on it.

  19. Thats the best reason to send it back imo.
  20. That'll be due to the snow.

The different types of 3/8" chain are the low profile ones ie top handle chain and the gauge ie the thickness of the chain.Well apart from the cutter style. None of this will matter aslong as the bar physically fits and the oil hole and adjuster line up as niftysteve says.
  22. Oh really:scared1: Fracture pruning is the future:thumbup1:, or is it the past:001_unsure:
  23. Might be best speaking to a parts dealer since if there should be a filter or something there they will know.
  24. I nearly always have a written quotation but thats more so I dont forget what needs doing! If their a nice customer and its going well then I dont mind doing a 'bit' extra, you just have to know when to draw the line, and tell them. When you know its a cutomer who is going to be specific about a thin or reduction just get them out and make sure they are happy as its going along, you just need to firm that once they are happy with the height/ that bit of the tree then they wont be getting anymore done once the climber is moving on etc. You do have to remember we are providing a service and it should be 'slightly' flexible.
  25. Sums it up fairly well for me. Even when you 'pollard'/'top'/'hack' a tree to within 1mm of its life you can still do a professional job. If you just want to do and promote what you think is professional work then good on you and good luck. As for H&S, I reckon most people involved in tree work do a fairly good job when you compare it to many other jobs involving plant/machinery/heights etc.
