  1. i agree with what andy says about our own jobless not wanting the work but wanting the benifits, but the guys on this thread who say that they have worked abroad (immigrants), i bet where you were working you were in a minority, a couple of years ago when the bulk of eastern europeans came here they came in their thousands, in the biggest town to where i live (Llanelli) crime soared, muggings, robberies, women would hang around cashpoints and try to sell their bodies to half drunk men, and when they were lured down an alley they would be beaten and robbed by 2 or 3 waiting men, yes i suppose its the same as british guys going to work abroad, but the scale of numbers that arrived here there was never going to be enough work to go round, i believe a lot of them have moved on to places like austria where they have raised the minimum wage.
  2. a mate of mine has just had the same news, he's looking forward to a good christmas, hope you have one too mate, brilliant news.
  3. my point being that there must be loads of guys using this forum that have got van, chipper and all the gear that would like a bit more work, so if your going to start a thread about it at least be a bit more enthusiastic, but then again, if you dont ask.......
  4. i think you have just described most of the guys on here
  5. if you google warm2wood he did have some ash cord, he`s in cross hands, his name is Ifan.
  6. the usual i suppose, local paper etc, is it just stumpgrinding you do? if so try contacting arb compamy`s in your area, and if they dont do grinding themselves maybe they could pass your number on
  7. le chameau mouflon or mouflon plus, mouflon plus is a good high boot and i do everything you listed in them, fishing shooting watching rallies, beating and walking the dogs every day, combined with a good pair of gaiters they are really good, a bit pricey but i think you get what you pay for, where abouts in carms are you.
  8. went to watch a car rally this morning and at five to eleven they stopped the cars starting the stage so that the cars that were on the stage would be finished by eleven, it was funny that from all the noise of the rally cars and generaters in the service area everything fell silent at 11 oclock for 2 minutes, but up the road there was a motorbike enduro on which kept going, obviously didnt have the same respect.
  9. just heard on the news that its been found 9 miles down the road from me, apparently on young stock planted in 2009.
  10. i had one recently and the woodturners couldnt get enough of it
  11. cant get certain threads up, when i click on them i just get a blank red page but still have all the headings along the top, home, forum, search etc
  12. there`s been about 40 replies to this thread and not one of them has been of any use to the OP, rattlehunter could be a landscape gardener or similar who gets offered tree work and wants to go about it properly, what impresion do people get from arbtalk when they get 40 p$ss take replies, if he took on the tree work himself he would still get slated, remember it could be someone off here he could employ.
  13. that is in good nick, how mant hours has it done
  14. i`ll be there friday, anyone got a postcode for it

    Jokes???

Can you believe it, they sent my income tax return form back to me, In response to question 4 `do you have any dependants` i replied, 2.1 million illegal immigrants 1.1 million crackheads 4.4 million unemployed 901 thousand people in over 85 prisons and 650 idiots in parliment apparently, this was not an acceptable answer
  18. as tim says greenwell hire have got a small greenmech for hire, is a TW150 too big
  19. just wondering, how many bags of postcrete does it take for a 2ft deep hole
  20. good old fasioned concrete for me, around this way customers winge at the price of timber let alone the price of postcrete on top, i`d rather concrete anyway.
  21. A woman went into the back of my chipper last december, her insurance paid for damage to the chipper and for chipper hire while mine was being repaired, they also paid for my loss of earnings for that day, have you had loads of phonecalls yet asking if you want to claim for neck injury, i`m still getting them.
  22. funny enough i was goin to put a post up about these, ive goy a pair of peltor radio muffs and i reckon these arent far off them, even if they last a year, bought two pairs.
  23. done some post and rail the other day on a big lawn on a smallholding, she didnt want any machines on the lawn so couldnt use a borer, went to start digging 4" down solid concrete, same for the next 10 holes, then the lady brings out an old ariel photo of the farm and we were on top of a big concrete pad that used to be the muck heap, but she did pay for jack hammer hire.
  24. another tip for the decoy bird compartment is to only put one perch in it, some people put two and they hop back and forth from perch to perch and go a bit crazy.
  25. i caravan quite a lot, you can get dickheads driving campervans, cars vans lorries, its the driver not the vehicle.
