  2. has anyone else noticed leylandi and similar browning off on the side that faces the wind, nearly all of them around our way have, we are quite near the coast, just wondering if it was just the wind or combination of wind and salt air.
  3. a mate of mine does it as part of his business, he's quite busy with it but has trouble finding storage to keep it under cover
  4. 4.8m rails so 2.4m spacing of posts
  5. the best few quid I spent was at the autosport show a couple of years ago, it was a funnel with a plastic screw cap either end, keeps the funnel spotless and no little bits of sawdust everywhere
  6. the village where it happened is only a couple of miles from me, tragic news.
  7. didn't you have a problem with someone pulling up your yew's a while back Dean, did you get to the bottom of that.
  8. the OP clearly states that the wood would be for his own use, if your a tree surgeon that does logs on the side then keep the wood, but to some its a big help for them for someone to just come and pick the wood up, so I don't see the point in slating the guy for asking for something that some people dont want anyway.
  9. its looks very much like PE the stuff blue water pipe and yellow gas pipe is made of, if you know anyone who works on the roads laying either might be worth a chat with them, the only trouble is it normally comes in coils.
  10. i'd say yes it is a claas forage harvester, years ago one dealer down our way used to feed logs into one on demo days.
  11. I did it back in 2000 for cancer charity, we went from lands end to john o groats, the charity we done it for sorted out accomidation for us in different fire stations along the route, most of the bigger ones were happy to feed us as well, and up in Scotland in the smaller stations they put camp beds and caravans for us to sleep in, didn't cost us anything for digs but we had to buy food some nights, the route they planned for us was a bit of a scenic one so took a bit longer than normal, there is a more direct route but it uses some very busy roads and dual carriageways, (fergot to say we were cycling) ,
  12. I bet that pic of neatly stacked timber is nicked from someone else's ad
  13. "please make sure there is sufficient ground clearance to fell in one or two parts" lol,
  14. subbed in to a mate of mine the other day, it was a place the scouts had in a woodland and ive never seen so much fungi in one place, sorry for the quality on phone.
  15. don't think mine have set foot in the house let alone on the beds, always been that way in our house,
  16. sorry, wasn't being clever but if you've already bought it I think it would be safer to take a bigger trailer just in case, especially if theres a fair distance involved,
  17. can you not put some pics up
  18. it might help if you put down where you are, not many of us on here from west wales, they look good though.
  19. couldn't it have been filmed going forward and then played in reverse
  20. for the record I can and do think for myself, and don't read any newspapers, all im saying is these scumbags can afford to run a vehicle and have non essential luxuries but instead of paying for firewood they go and pinch other peoples, that's ok in your book is it?
  21. I keep hearing about family's choosing between heating their homes or feeding their families but I bet they've all got the latest I phone and smoking 60 a day, half of them pinch for the sake of it.
  22. if you know they come every sunday morning why not wait for them, leave them carry a load down to their vehicle then confront them and tell them to take it back or you will call the police.
