  1. One idea for the sides is to have fine green mesh - allows gentle air through flow but stops rain etc getting all the outer boards... plus it's cheap.!
  2. Nice work if that is just the test piece!
  3. In your position Alec I would go back to Parcelforce and basically explain that the signature has been forged and you can prove it. See what they do. If 'not a lot' then ask to put in a formal complaint saying that you can prove that this signature was forged as neither your wife or yourself could have signed for this parcel. Follow the complaint up. Although it may be down to the sellers responsibility as they chose the courier I would chase this myself while at the same time logging a dispute on ebay. It may not be the sellers fault but it is up to them to help you on this. That way you have a two pronged attack and one or the other should hopefully result in a ruling in your favour.
  4. Nice raw work - like it
  5. It looks like it would be very sticky - I used to put my rope in a pillow case, tie it up and put in the washing machine and it came out looking like new if that helps!

If you are driving 3/8 lo pro chain you can switch to a bar that takes 3/8 .043 which gives a very fast clean cut. [ame] [/ame] There is the Stihl chain or Oregon 90px options and you can find the bar here: GROUP 1 Multi mount | Product Categories | Sugihara Guide Bars These go up to 18".

Haha!..... you'll have worn that Stihl bar out by the time the Sugihara bars are here so you'll be ready! There is a huge lead time now from the factory and we have to overlap x3 orders at a time these days... all good fun

Yep now that people have tried and seem to be liking may well feature these saws as an ongoing option in both 10" and 12". In fact have listed here OFFERS | Product Categories | Sugihara Guide Bars you can e-mail a copy of CS39 or whattsapp/text it to 07811611457. In around 5 months (September) will have Sugihara bars (pro lams) to go on these which should then complete the saw!
  12. It's a big subject really - but the basics will see you getting good results and they are good chainsaw maintenace and a correctly sharpened chain at all times.

I think when people really start getting into these .043 chains and seeing the difference in cutting performance most will not look back. There is a slight pay off in that the bars will be a little less stiff and I expect you'll get less sharpens out of each chain - but this is against a faster, cleaner cut and the bar and chain itself weigh less.
  14. Hmmm... it's a reason but I would say they just want that tree gone and it sounds better than 'it takes all the light from the garden'. What a shame as that has to be a few years old and it looks healthy. Well done for trying to persuade them out of it.
  15. Next special offer will be with the 620SX on the Sugi website. Although I'm thinking of doing this to run 3/8 lo pro with a series of bars thrown in ie. 20" Quarter tip bar, 20" pro lam, 18" toonie, 18" standard light type running 3/8 standard. So sort of a carving set up really but also with the lo pro set up good to use on the small log mills with a Stihl PMX chain - can also be used for general cutting as well. Will be an all rounder sort of thing - and as you can read not decided the details yet. This will be next week. Rob PS - can always PM me some ideas - what would entice you into getting a 620SX? (if we could avoid the 'if it was £300-00 inc vat and postage mate' type suggestions ) More - what set up do you want to run on there....

I meant to put CS39! And you can get one if you send me evidence of the courses you're booked to do. Echo have asked that evidence be seen when ordering a top handled saw hence the request. A top handled saw is very different to a ground saw - because of it's being designed for (if needed) one handed use. With the MS200T and the like it's pretty heavy work using it one handed on the ground - with these much lighter saws it is easy and therefore very very tempting. Already seen plenty of vids as below for sawing up thin diameter branches into firewood. [ame] [/ame]

    Tungsten Chains

The tungsten chains can also snap heads - and prob will trying to cut into the ground if there are stones. You are better (as said) buying the cheap and cheerful piranha chains, give them a harsh and fast sharpen a couple of times then replace.
  18. Nice tidy stacking there and again very good attention to detail cleaning the boards of all sawdust
  19. No prob Patrick - let me know how you get on and hopefully the same issue does not happen again.
  20. The new Echo saws seem to be superb - got an Echo 501SX and it's a great saw and runs well straight out the box!
  21. Looks a good sized log - do you have any of the pics inbetween?
  22. Cheers Steve
  23. Yep that handle does need better glue... As for the felling lever attachment I mentioned that to them a while ago and i think they are finally making one now!
  24. That's the one can't see the EDIT button to change that... You can also get there by Sugihara Guide Bars
  25. Again one of those vids been meaning to make for a while. Actually changing the nose sprocket even with basic tools is pretty easy. Main thing is that you have a good solid metal base. You can get the Sugi nose changing kits here Products for the category: Bar maintenance tools Video is here: [ame] [/ame]
