  1. I don't think we will - mainly because I'd say there are not that different from the Sugi bars we already have. To airfreight a few bars makes them cost £££ - you needs pallets by sea to make them worth bringing over (and on top of this a 5 month lead time). Now the exchange rates are down to bring in new products is harder as they will be more expensive = harder to sell...
  2. Thanks all - the sprockets were a weak point before but this time we will have it far better with all saws covered. Any other suggestions?
  3. Started work building the new chainsawbars website - any feedback welcomed... What do you find good about the current website? What bad? What would you like to see in the future one? csb-website.pdf
  4. Yep -very cool - the metal work almost looks like a branch
  5. Bench was cool Mark - like the engraving - it got lost in amoungst the other things!
  6. All great work - liking it - I did a bed headboard like that and the size alone gives it a bit of wow factor. For the casters under the chair - where did you get them from?
  7. Ha ha! Good to hear some enthusiasm
  8. As above - give it a go - some have done it successfully to my knowledge....
  9. Yep those saws are bouncing a lot - could be some issues with the bar on the bar mounts. But still early days yet no doubt the system will improve!
  10. I've had a few people ask - are these mills as good as the original? Are they as strong? The answer is - they are fit for light occasional use but they are not as good or as strong as the original. You can't have the same product for less money - so you pays your money and takes your chances.... If in doubt or you have concerns then buy the original please.
  11. OK - we started these off cheap as chips as an intro offer - now am putting the prices up. However - if you are an arbtalker we will still do these prices pour vous!!! So please PM me if you want to get one at the old prices (not e-mail or call - the PM tells me you are on here and a contributor to this forum. Not just someone who has read the above and wants the cheap price). As said in another thread - we are no longer doing a general throw in for arbtalkers - but specific deals that will usually be hidden in threads like these.

    Tiny echo!

If you take off the bar and chain and hang onto these - please bear in mind that these saws will be ID'd by their serial numbers then destroyed. They are not worried about getting the bar and chain back. You can pack them in whatever is to hand as long as it won't fall to pieces on the journey back. For all the saws we sold we will give everyone a collection day and arrange the pick up - I expect it will be in a couple of weeks. Just need to see who wants to take Echo up on the deal. I'd rather get the CS280TES to people first - then we'll get the Echo 2510s picked up so no rush.

    Tiny echo!

I think the Echo offer is fair - and it's not open for negociation as far as I'm aware.... I will try and ask them to give me the Echo 280s with a 1/4" sprocket so all our customers can continue to use the thin bars and chains... That or I'll retro fit them - bear in mind the CS280s will likely be running 3/8 lo pro as standard.
  14. The CS281-WES is the back handle version - but the 2510 is not. In fact I need to take those off the Sugi site which I'll do now.
  15. Yep - the 36" version is selling fast but we still have plenty there.
  16. A beauty! I did have one worse where so worn it has then splayed like a flower opening! Can't find it now though....

    Tiny echo!

All our customers will get an official e-mail as well to the effect of: Stop using the saw. Empty of fuel, remove bar and chain. Box it and advise us which day you want collected. Do you want the offer of a CS280TES before the new 2511 is available? We will fit these with a 1/4 sprocket so you can continue using the mini 1/4 .043 bar and chain. Or we can refund you Rob
  18. A few pics of bar/chain/sprocket brought in today... Only seen one sprocket worn worse than this one! Damaged sprockets in turn damage drive links which then gouge out the bar. This particular customer still felt there was plenty of life left in this!
  19. It's an idea however.... Whether direct or on ebay there is no margin in these mills at these prices. To set up a website is still time consuming and therefore expensive - we would not put these mills up on our existing sites. So ebay it is! You can find the 36" version here Economy version of Alaskan chainsaw mill - 36" model - intro offer price!! | eBay The 48" version (includes a bracing kit) here Economy version of Alaskan chainsaw mill - 48" model - intro offer price!! | eBay The 60" version (includes a bracing kit) here Economy version of Alaskan chainsaw mill - 60" model - intro offer price!! | eBay Building one of these mills again for the photos I would repeat this is not as well produced as the original. The materials are not as good quality. If you are planning on doing a large amount of milling I would strongly advise buying the real one.
  20. If you wished to try a Tsumura bar we have a few in as a stop gap until the next Sugihara bars arrive. They are another respected bar manufacturuer in Japan. These are currently listed on ebay. We only have x2 types K095 for Husky running .325 .058 chain: Tsumura Chainsaw Bar Husqvarna 15" pro + Chain Husqvarna 357,359,550XP,560XP | eBay Tsumura Chainsaw Bar Husqvarna 18" pro lam + Chain Husqvarna 357,359,550XP,560XP | eBay
  21. Good to hear - we will price match to start with - there may even be a mini price war sparked.. who knows... Granberg are improving what is already a well designed mill to make it better so if nothing else this Chinese mill has stimulated some needed R&D work.
  22. In some ways this mill could fill a niche for home/occasional users. It is not as well built or stong as the Alaskan but for just the odd job or to try milling it is a good economical intro mill. It could be we sell these cheaply at first then try and improve them/rebrand them - of course they would be more expensive after that but still around half the price of the genuine article. Anyways - hang onto your cash for a few more days - we'll get these up on ebay and see where things go!
  23. Yep - I have x100 of these in now and will be listing on ebay shortly. I'd rather people bought one of these off us rather than them. Bit of a dilemma though - I expect Royston will also be listing mills again soon - there is no way in the long term we can offer any sort of service punting these out at the same price that they are. We called them a few times and asked questions about the mills - they have zero product knowledge and refer people to youtube. But if we don't price match people will go for the cheaper option.... :001_huh:
  24. Nope you are not alone! But you are slightly obsessed. Same here! - the good thing is it means you can get good at what you do, bad thing is you will most likely exhaust yourself! Try and do things that takes your mind off trees - get your brain thinking in other directions. Give the little grey cells some time off.....! Haha - all much easier said than done mind you!
  25. What was your full name and I will dig it out manually for you? Yes - again another bug never fully fixed....
