In fact have set up a product here for CS280 owners - £94-00 (to allow website charging shipping). You need to return the saw to: Unit 2 Brookside Farm Agars Lane Silver Street Hampshire SO41 0FL UK Put a covering note in with the saw. We're not expecting many but one or two hhave said they will hand it back. Or purchase this product here to keep it. Special Offers Archives - Chainsawbars Until one or tother is done we won't be able to send the new saws out!

Where are ours then!! I called the other day and no reply... I will call Monday and kick up a little more fuss
  3. I don't even see how it will work - money earned compared to money spent on clearing up fly tipped rubbish!!!! In France (or where we had a place) domestic AND commercial was free - simple as that - they know what the effect would be of charging... It is painful sometimes in this country....
  4. A week or so ago the new chainsawbars website went live on a new platform. We will launch it officially soon - still working through a lot of amends and tweaks - but it is fully operational. You will have to open a new account to use it as we could not transfer across info that easily... you can use same e-mail and password. On your next order just tick the create account button. But those that have used it what do you think?! New special offers button here http://www.chainsawbars.co.uk/product-category/special-offers/ Video area is re vamped so you can see all videos we have made... VIDEOS - Chainsawbars It should work much better on mobiles and in time will be much better populated with chainsaw makes and models. If you want to see a chainsaw up there ask us - it is a MILLION times easier to add than the old site!!
  5. I find these questions tricky to answer - what sort of effect are you are looking to get? - matt/natural/glossy/hard wearing/easy to maintain/smooth... the list is long!

We have not been told anything yet....
  7. You could prob go around the 30" mark with standard chain, 36" with a lo pro set up. Your chain sharpening skills are the important issue!
  8. Yep very slick - that's the sort of thing would go for good £ in the right place.

    Emigrating

One of the first most original threads I've seen in a while! Where we live it's the same vibe - people are uptight, in a rush, trying to better their lives, irritable... On a plus point we do seem to get stuff done! As inefficient as we are we are driven and more efficient than a lot of other countries... (IMO that is). Often thought of moving or at least living half in one country and half in the UK - not sure how practical that is though... Not easy and good on you for taking the plunge and making it work.
  10. Good to say hello again Ted and thanks for the name badge - a nice touch I thought!
  11. Haha! Yes it's only banter - well I spoke to the Rotatech gents at the APF and we may get some of your 1/4 .043 to try on the Sugi bars.
  12. If you are professional and reliable you could do well - we are always asked 'do you know someone in xyz that does mobile saw milling' By going to the shows making good contacts and providing a good service I'm sure there is plenty of work out there.

But will it be the 1/4 .043 or 1/4 .050? I've rung them to find out and hopefully it'll be the .043 option..

    Tiny echo!

I doubt it on either - someone called Charlie got a display one from the APF and it is pretty much the same saw but a bit wider. We have 10" Sugi bar/chain combos here GROUP 0 Echo chainsaws Archives - Sugihara Guide Bars No one seems to know what bar and chain it will come with - and it's pretty hard going trying to get info out of the importers! Will e-mail them again today....
  15. Haha! Annnnnnnndddddddddd back round to the old verse! Yawn!
  16. Strange as it takes me to the right page - but then that's computers for you! To start with we'll be doing this with the bar + chain just so that people are using the right chain with the right bar... We've looked at how the Sugi chain meshes with the Stihl bar and really it's not far off... but not sure if this would still cause issues with the drive links getting peened.
  17. Try this. I need to add it to the 'Group 0' Echo saws - which is really only the 2511TES (and also Echo Pole saw although I need to find out if they do a 1/4 drive sprocket). 10? Sugi Pro lam ? 1/4? .043 56 drive links EM1M-4V25-A + Sugi chain - Sugihara Guide Bars I need to do a vid on the new Sugi 1/4 .043 bars as we have them in 10",12" and 14". Failing that the part number is EM1M-4V25-A
  18. Thanks for the pics Charlie - did it come with a solid nose carving bar with Oregon 25AP? That chain can feel skittish. Trouble is you got the first one and so this running gear may not be standard on all the other saws to come....
  19. I'm not forgetting any of that and Rotatech did ever so well - let me make the question clearer: What chain (Manufacturer and part number) was the other leading brand of chainsaw the Rotatech chain was racing against? Come on you know you want to tell us!

    X-Cut

With the size of these companies could they not come out with a new concept of how a chainsaw cuts wood? Actual proper innovation?? In climbing there are all sorts that have come out and continue to come out - SRT variations, the zigzag etc etc With chainsaw chain it seems the equivalent of bringing out slightly different rope material for the same VT hitch....
  21. Chain on the right seems a little dull - and why be shy about it - come on 'leading brand' = ???????? :laugh1:
  22. Charlie bought his off a stand at the end of the show - what bar and chain did it come with Charlie and can you post some pics up of what it came with - inc any numbers on the chain? We now have the Sugi 1/4 .043 bars and Sugi chain to go on these - doing a combo deal here as you can't run the Stihl 1/4 .043 on the Sugi bar and vice versa (or maybe you can but the chain does not quite mesh as well as it should with the nose sprocket - I'll do a vid on this). 10? Sugi Pro lam ? 1/4? .043 56 drive links EM1M-4V25-A + Sugi chain - Sugihara Guide Bars Would be good to see your thoughts on how you find the Sugi chain - you are the first in the UK to have one!

    X-Cut

Exactly and one can only think what happened to the quality of Husky bars when they switched to making them themselves... Would be good to have some proper testing done on chains by everyday folk and at least see if there are some common findings...

    X-Cut

Hmmmmmm - It's a lovely presented vid - but all the terms used to describe it are vague - "great performance" "really like the way it did this that and...." "sharp straight out of the box" And funny how all the Husqvarna team really like it so much but no hard facts! What about some direct chain for chain comparisons!? Can they not test their X cut with a Stihl and Oregon chain in that nice looking lab? Maybe just maybe they have done that... I feel a chain test in the offing but except unlike files testers will know what chain they are testing and hence be biased. Any ideas?!
  25. I think more the chain - I bet when you've used it for a bit you may find that it stretches and then you could take a link out and it would fit fine. A true test is put a new oregon chain on there - but I did that in the video and on a 7 pin it fit fine.... Just because their 72 d/l chain fits on the 20" bar doesn't translate to the 84 d/l fitting the 25" bar. So at this stage I'd say it is because of a slight shorter chain length on that make of chain - but no big deal and adding another drive link solves it.
