  1. Hmmmm - I'm stumped Do you have anyone who can add a drive link for you? What chain manufacturer was it by the way?
  2.
  3. Ah so he did.... in that case double check the chain - it may say 84 d/l on the box but maybe it's 83 and this would explain things....
  4. Stihl and Husky confuse the issue a little because the 24" Husky is the same length as equivalent 25" Stihl - they just like to call it different lengths! But bars are same length and take same chain. What drive rim/sprocket are you using?- possibly it is an 8 pin and this may mean another drive link for the Sugi bar.... [ame] [/ame] Apologies for vid angles. Really with a new set up on an 8 pin you need an 85 drive link chain.
  5. Thanks for having us on your stand Justin - was great to catch up with people - still got a sore throat now! (...from talking that is before anyone thinks to ad lib!!) Would have liked to have a look around but didn't manage to step foot outside the tent!
  6. Oh ok good stuff!
  7. We have em now in again Mike so order when you're ready!
  8. Any pics there? Always seems to get folk more interested....
  9. We'll be in resident in Jonsie tent this year - we will be throwing in stuff if you buy a mill etc. We can't bring all the Sugi bars with us - but there will be some cheeky deals to be had particularly on carving bars and other bars we over ordered. Also if you just want to come and have a chat about milling etc. I'm there tom and Thursday, Laurence Friday and Sat.
  10. Sounds good - such a simple idea you wonder why no one did it years ago - so thanks go to SawTroll for them.
  11. We will be on the Jonsie stand with some very good deals on bars - but bear in mind these will only be on our hard to sell bars! Other bars we will have some good freebies to throw in with - and you can pick out of a large range of useful bits and pieces. All mills will come with a free winch kit and ratchet spanner. And there could be some super cheap cash deals going as well.
  12. Pleasure all and thanks for taking the time to post your findings
  13. 10" for a sprocket nose bar - or you could go for an 8" carving bar which actually could work well. We have them here - but you would have to change the sprocket to a 1/4 drive sprocket... 14. Sounds a great project! Please keep posting as you go including some pics please. We have a good variety of bars - best though if you are going long is to go lo pro. The bars we have are 12mm slot but we have bar adapters here - ok you may have to adapt an adapter! Or as you said make your own custom one. The issue you may find is running the oil up into the bar groove... the larger bars tend to have the oiler sited higher - but there are usually ways and means around channeling the oil so that this still works.
  15. Either way more competition usually means better and improved products. Oregon brought out the new TXL chain - I epxect they will be bringing out more as the year goes on!
  16. Just conicidence I think But just like all other areas of the industry progress marches on and now it seems chainsaw chain is getting better and more refined. Oregon used to make all chain for Husky but now Husky are looking to make their own and are starting with this one. Hopefully is it better than their bars have been to date - so hard to judge chain other than just a feel that one chain is better than another. Could be a mighty chain test in the offing soon :laugh1:
  17. No need - but use copper slip anti seize grease on the threads of the U bolts.
  18. As Alec has said. I use a 42" on an MS660 with the Stihl PMX chain. It does cut very smoothly and cleanly indeed and is worth making the swap if you are regularly milling with longer bars. Disadvantages are more chain stretch and less stay sharp ability.
  19. Good stuff - I have been using mine and they make changing the height so much easier.... had to tighten them up after the first few changes...
  20. Good to know keep the feedback coming!
  21. Sorry all done now - we did extend it for a couple of days....
  22. No prob - after today the offer is ended! So please order now if you are interested - we are not extending it for any reason so orders after today will not get the chains!
  23. Hmmm... you would have to have an adapter, a Stihl bar and the tensioner hole drilled out to 7mm PM me if you want to try it!
  24. Hi Ian - what mount has that got? If an oregon K095 all the bars for the Husky 550XP will fit... but you would have to check the drive sprocket..
  25. This offer is ending today so if you want it get in there!!
