  1. We will be on the Jonsie stand with some very good deals on bars - but bear in mind these will only be on our hard to sell bars! Other bars we will have some good freebies to throw in with - and you can pick out of a large range of useful bits and pieces. All mills will come with a free winch kit and ratchet spanner. And there could be some super cheap cash deals going as well.
  2. Pleasure all and thanks for taking the time to post your findings
  3. 10" for a sprocket nose bar - or you could go for an 8" carving bar which actually could work well. We have them here - but you would have to change the sprocket to a 1/4 drive sprocket... GROUP 1 Stihl chainsaws Archives - Sugihara Guide Bars 8" Sugi Light Type Pro Dime Tip - 1/4" .050 52 drive links BN6C-0X20-A - Sugihara Guide Bars
  4. Sounds a great project! Please keep posting as you go including some pics please. We have a good variety of bars - best though if you are going long is to go lo pro. The bars we have are 12mm slot but we have bar adapters here - ok you may have to adapt an adapter! Or as you said make your own custom one. The issue you may find is running the oil up into the bar groove... the larger bars tend to have the oiler sited higher - but there are usually ways and means around channeling the oil so that this still works.
  5. Either way more competition usually means better and improved products. Oregon brought out the new TXL chain - I epxect they will be bringing out more as the year goes on!
  6. Just conicidence I think But just like all other areas of the industry progress marches on and now it seems chainsaw chain is getting better and more refined. Oregon used to make all chain for Husky but now Husky are looking to make their own and are starting with this one. Hopefully is it better than their bars have been to date - so hard to judge chain other than just a feel that one chain is better than another. Could be a mighty chain test in the offing soon :laugh1:
  7. No need - but use copper slip anti seize grease on the threads of the U bolts.
  8. As Alec has said. I use a 42" on an MS660 with the Stihl PMX chain. It does cut very smoothly and cleanly indeed and is worth making the swap if you are regularly milling with longer bars. Disadvantages are more chain stretch and less stay sharp ability.
  9. Good stuff - I have been using mine and they make changing the height so much easier.... had to tighten them up after the first few changes...
  10. Good to know keep the feedback coming!
  11. Sorry all done now - we did extend it for a couple of days....
  12. No prob - after today the offer is ended! So please order now if you are interested - we are not extending it for any reason so orders after today will not get the chains!
  13. Hmmm... you would have to have an adapter, a Stihl bar and the tensioner hole drilled out to 7mm PM me if you want to try it!
  14. Hi Ian - what mount has that got? If an oregon K095 all the bars for the Husky 550XP will fit... but you would have to check the drive sprocket..
  15. This offer is ending today so if you want it get in there!!
  16. Nope - I'm afraid we don't have these... We may get some 15" in ..... but 6 months away! Need more people using Echo saws
  17. Thanks for the orders gents (and ladies if applicable Please post your findings on here after you have used and abused!
  18. Can you give me any part numbers or even better tell me what the oregon bar mount is? K095 hopefully!
  19. We have 74" guide bars from GB Australia. They are very good - based on their harvester bars. Also cheaper than Cannon... better as well (IMO but then I'm bound to say that;) MILLING BARS FOR STIHL CHAINSAWS | Product Categories | Alaskan Mill ? Mobile Chainsaw Mills
  20. It is brand new only been out for 1 week! It looks pretty space age - and Oregon are some of the great grand masters of chain making!
  21. Got it! Yes you can order off the Chainsawbars ? chainsaw chains, chainsaw bars and chainsaw accessories website as well.
  22. Yes just order on the website Sugihara Guide Bars no code needed - we will add this offer to any of the .325 .050 bars that are bought over the bank holiday.
  23. As in another thread Oregon have released a new chain - 95TXL. This is similar to their 95VPX chain (which was always a great chain) - a .325 chain that takes a narrower kerf. But this new 95TXL chain is a completely new beast made from different materials, new grind geometry, longer stay sharp and better lubrication. 15% faster than any other chain out there!! Worth a try if you have a 40cc to 60cc saw... We have the Sugi bars to run this chain - just put your chainsaw into the selectors and scroll down to find the .325 .050 bars Sugihara Guide Bars And as a special try out offer: Buy a pro lam bar - get x2 chains free (the old style 95VPX and new style 95TXL) Buy a light type pro or solid pro - get x3 chains free (2x old style 95VPX and x1 new style 95TXL). Compare the two and put your findings on here. Pics to follow from my iphone!
