I really don't see it as some thing to be proud of, or not proud off. I am proud of having a great family, providing for my two kids, seeing their achievments. Putting food on the table, being good at my job, being respected for what I do and the actions I take in life. You presumed to know me from one or two posts. You don't know sh1t in that regard. Whereas, you have put it down for all and sundry to read. It seems pretty easy to work out your agenda. You must be proud of the level of trolling you have achieved... well done Sir, I salute you. That is where you are 100% wrong matelot. I haven't voted since I was about 18. I am 43 now. I am neither left, right or in the middle. I agree on a lot of points and can see both sides of the story but you just seem to repeat the same point over and over to get a reaction that suites your agenda. Keep at it mate, as for deluded...? As you seem to be an expert on UK politics, Terrorist activity, extremism and anything else you have an opinion on... Have you not noticed the timing of these events? Major terrorist activity just before major politic events... Brussels, just before the Brexit vote. Westminister and Manchester, just before a General Election. Plus others. Food for thought.

By doing exactly what you stated in the second paragraph. If they didn't do that then the business name would be degraded. Quite often, I am brought in to do jobs because the firm don't have the staff themselves. Therefore I (and other in the same boat) are improving the reputation of the company and thus the business.

Haha... not sure of my exact chest size but I am 6'4" and about 14 stone. I bought the XL and it is perfect in the arm and shoulder. I can also fit a decent fleece on underneath for the colder day. It looks pretty rugged but is only a single skin jacket, a bit like the army style goretex jackets (but hopefully with a bit more life in it) I think the website has a sizing guide on it. I found a couple of stockists, one called Nordic Natures and another workwear provider in NZ. Cheapest was buying direct from Swazi. Came in at just over 200 knicker including delivery.

Maybe, just maybe, some companies are not charging enough. But I do believe that a lot of people do this job as a lifestyle rather than running a company as a viable business. As you say so Mick, people can charge what they want. Same as in life really. Some people are content in life driving a Mazda, others want a Maserati.

No worries mate. I can only speak of my own experiences. I think being south of the country may have some bearing on it. I also think the main factor in this is working for people whose attitude goes along the lines off.. "I wouldn't want to work weekend/nights/awkward start times without being compensated for it and neither should the guys who work for me." These companies tend to have been running for a fair while, good stream of domestic and commercial clients and they are not low ballers. They charge for the skills, experience and machinery required. It goes back to the old adage of you choosing your customers as opposed to the customers choosing you. Easier said than done, but many successful firms have achieved this through strategic marketing, word of mouth or just pure luck. For example working on private housing estates. Affluent people with money as opposed to working on council estates and run down areas. A question for those that sub to railways or utility networks... If the allowed slot for work is out of usual working hours do they charge more? What about bank holidays? Working a christmas day shift etc... even a factory would offer you a better than standard rate. Why should our industry be any different? It is IMO because people are worried about losing the job/client to a cheaper firm. Are these really the valued customer you strive for as you grow your business? I used to work a fair few Saturdays but these days I prefer to spend the time with my kids or friends. If it isn't time and a half, even an extra 20 quid on the day rate would differentiate the weekend from a regular working day.

There is a slight difference there Marc. You mentioned if someone wants an extra day's work then you will find it for them at a standard day rate. That is a completely different scenario than a customer stating that the job has to be completed over a weekend. If you had a job that required it to be completed at nights... you would obviously factor in all the requirements and then would you do it at a standard day rate... I think not, I have always been paid double time for nightshift. I don't see why weekends should be any different. Maybe not double time but certainly. It standard rate.

As for freelancing. Here in the South it is a very competitive market. I charge more than most but still manage to stay busy. I also ask for more in a weekend, but we have already covered that.

Freelance all the way mate. The point I am trying to make is that a number of the firms I work for wouldn't dream off working a weekend without charging a premium for it. That is how I believe it should be.

Yes don't do it. The soles are very soft and grippy but won't last as long in the floor. Personally I use AKU Cresta approach boots for via ferratta. I have a pair that are heavily abused for over 3 years and are still going. As for the SRT loops. I bought a large for my Andrew's and the smaller size for the AKU's. I never take them off.

If some clients want a job done specifically on a weekend or a bank holiday they they should be charged accordingly. Likewise, if a firm expect me to give up my weekend or bank holiday to do a job on a specific date I expect at least time and a half. This is the case 90% of the time. I also expected etc them to be charging their client for time ++. It makes sense business wise and I can never understand why a company would work on unsociable hours just cos the client demands it but then doesn't charge for the service. Why is that the case? Are the companies who don't charge extra at weekends or BH scared of doing so in case they lose the work?

Forgot to take my fleece top off and got a bit bored at 2min 37 seconds so I stopped. In fairness, I have done Muay Thai for over 20 years and have planked once or twice before in Strength and conditioning classes. I remember me and the missus once went to a luxury hotel and went down to the pool and gym area. They had a planking challenge for the members, winning time won a hundred quids worth of beauty treatments. I was suprised how low the winning times were as in the past I have regularly planked for the duration of a boxing round I.e 3 mins. Me and the missus both had a go. She was a professional dancer at the time. The gym instructor told us to get up at about 3 mins and 20 odd seconds as we were making the members look bad and couldn't take the prizes anyway...

True. There were none left in my size, but I did grab a medium for my son. I have had similar jackets to the aldi. They are great for windproof but do leak after a period of heavy rain. I still use mine on drizzly days.

Well I can confirm it doesn't leak. Wasn't too hot but time will tell after a few hour climbing in it. So far so good and the skirt doesn't really restrict movement. I am sure I will get to test it some more. Especially with this current run of outstanding weather we seem to be experiencing.

That is a generous offer. Regarding the hot wash q, I reckon they will have shrunk. They will either look too small or very trendy. I hear skinny jeans have been the rage for a few years now with the younguns.
