  1. Excellent. Glad you got sorted. Keeping us posted on any results.
  2. Yes it was me. Honey brothers spoke with the designer and they replaced it. The haas is a really simple setup. With the Velux it just works. You don't have to tune and trim the bungee like the previous version.
  3. TBH, I used a home made one for about 3 years it was fine. I just decided to by one after meeting The designer of the HAAS at an arb show. It was a bit of innovation that I felt he should be rewarded. My version was actually based on Jerry Beraneks doubled line rope walker system. Only I was using it for SRT work. The HAAS is well made and seems to be pretty contstant and reliable. As was home made one. The main difference is it took me a while to dial in the length of bungee required for a maximum stride length.
  4. But if I understand you won't be getting the benefits of a HAAS as you will be using Stein. I would make one or buy the real thing personally. If you are tight for funds, make one. If your flush, then put some money back into the designers pocket and buy an original.
  5. I had a freelander for quite a few years. I was once up in Richmond with Dave the dog. We were rec climbing and had to make it up a step hill to trees overlooking the castle. There was melting snow on the ground and the freelander made it up on road tyres using the HDC. Dave had his 130 in low box. I never had any problems with mine. TD4 engine mind. Not the petrol.
  6. I just have mine right and high and then push it down as far as possible. Yes a big saw may pull it down a bit but it does with every harness I have used. Not the TM Lite I might add. I used one of these once when my kit was elsewhere. Never again unless I have to.
  7. Will do.
  8. What are you using it for? I worked in Norway with a guy from Uzbekistan. He used to point out the Chaga on Birch trees saying in his home country and Russia the grind it up to make a tincture/tea. Claimed some people use it to try and cure cancer.
  9. Well thank you Les. As the distributor, Les contacted Honey brothers and they liased with Michael Frankenhauser. Once they saw the pictures they have replaced the unit. Thanks to Les, Woody and Michael.
  10. A couple of the 661's I have used in the past have got sigjificantly better after about 10 tanks. I have a 660 that Steve ported. It cuts like stinks and is very loud. Not sure how the 661 would respond. Do the 661's have the computer tuned carb? Would that create an issue with tuning after the porting work had been completed?
  11. Top banana. A bad tree done well.
  12. The Alhambra is stunning Steve. If you make it to Granada it is a must.
  13. Cool, thanks Les. I will give him a shout. Thank you.
  14. Check this out. News crews from CNN and BBC 'apparently stumbled' across and impromptu campaign again ISIS. Really? It looks pretty scripted to me. I really don't know where to turn these days for the truth. https://mobile.twitter.com/KTHopkins/status/871487298721992705/video/1 What are you thought on that Matelot, as you called me dillusional the other day.?
  15. A couple of pictures for you Les. It appears to be unravelling where the stitch was finished. Any way see what you think. Cheers Rich
  16. Hi Les. I bought it at the APF last year. I think it was Honey's... anyway it was wherever Michael Frankenhauser was working, as I bought it from him. See picture Les. Are you working for workware and are they the distributed for the HAAS kit?
  17. Anyone else had problems. The stitching has started to come undone in the foot clip for a krab to connect to boot. Poor show IMO. At over a hundred quid the thing has started to fall to bits already. I don't use it everyday either.
  18. Just disconnect the SRT system and descend on your regular hitch. Then just I tie the base anchor and retrieve everything.
  19. I am no expert in these matter but from previous observations with any tree the more you remove the more vigorous the regrowth partly due to the stresses the tree endures. With that in mind a sympathetic reduction may not place the tree under too much stress, and not have a massive burst of regrowth. Possibly staying variegated and keeping the rooting stock dormant. It would be interesting to gets someone else with an expert opinion.
  20. Just noticed that myself. Well spotted Hawkeye.
  21. It is not something I have used for a lot my time and at that time not very often so no pics I'm afraid. I have seen it used a lot though in masters climbs in comps and when I have been contracting at different firms. I think it is called floating anchor. Another options is to tie an alpine butterfly on the access line and connect your regular climbing system. Pull the access line up to the top anchor and then when you get there your system is waiting for you. There will more than likely be a few videos on YouTube.
  22. Set an access line with a prussc klenheisted to it. Connect your regular deft system I to the prussic. Place hand ascender under see prussic and something else into the system like a Croll in a microfrog system. As you ascend your hand ascender advances the prussic. The regular system acts as a backup to the SRT system. When you get to an area requiring work release SRT setup and climb using the floating anchor on the ddrt system. When done climb back to the SRT system reconnect and repeat.
  23. I knew I had met David at a show somewhere. Just couldn't put my finger on where exactly. I do remember now meeting at Jones first show. Genuine bloke and my thoughts are with his family and close friends. RIP Tree brother, son of another mother.
  24. I really don't see it as some thing to be proud of, or not proud off. I am proud of having a great family, providing for my two kids, seeing their achievments. Putting food on the table, being good at my job, being respected for what I do and the actions I take in life. You presumed to know me from one or two posts. You don't know sh1t in that regard. Whereas, you have put it down for all and sundry to read. It seems pretty easy to work out your agenda. You must be proud of the level of trolling you have achieved... well done Sir, I salute you. On that note I will leave you to your own demise good luck with life and I stand by my original comments.
  25. That is where you are 100% wrong matelot. I haven't voted since I was about 18. I am 43 now. I am neither left, right or in the middle. I agree on a lot of points and can see both sides of the story but you just seem to repeat the same point over and over to get a reaction that suites your agenda. Keep at it mate, as for deluded...? Haha, you fell for that one hook line and sinker you dopey Cutn.
