  1. Sorry to hear that Stubby. My uncle was mis diagnosed by the Drs and then almost neglected for 18 months. When they finally twigged it wasn’t emphasemia but Lung C... it was too late. 8 days later it was no longer an issue. He had guessed all along and even made his own funeral arrangement so as not to stress the family in their time of loss.
  2. No Stubby you are wrong. The grey squirrels have chainsaws around his way.
  3. I watched one of the videos Looks like a good work out. Although I did think you were about to bury that axe in your leg a few times. Do you never change your grip over when you change sides. When your hands were back to front it didn’t look that stable tbh mate. Thanks for posting though. The axe looks great.
  4. True Romance. Apocalypse Now where eagles dare
  5. Just look at the numbers. Chainsaws kecks are supposed to be good to 22m/s chain speed IIRC Most of the saws a pro user has in their arsenal have chain speeds quicker than the protective rating of trousers. What do people expect?
  6. Sorry to hear that. Cancer is a cruel bastard that's for sure.
  7. Nice Tom. Good work.
  8. At a guess, I would think you were near the peacock enclosure and the goose pens?
  9. My guess Is you have updated the iOS software recently. it is one of the new features of the IOS platform. as for everything listening to you conversations... it is bloody obvious they do. The only way to deflect or interrupt the signals is a tin foil hat.
  10. You make a valid point but what about the dog that didn’t have a lead and there appeared to be no attempt to keep it under control?
  11. I bought some shoes from a drug dealer! I don’t know what he laced them with but I’ve been tripping all day! I’ll just get my coat!
  12. Thought I saw your name on a loaf of bread in the supermarket yesterday but when I looked closer it actually said Thick Cut
  13. "Beware of Dandelions? That's a stupid sign," I said climbing over a fence. Soon after I was mauled by four big cats wearing top hats and monocles.
  14. I would first check if you are eligible to work there. i am guessing it isn’t that easy otherwise every one would be doing it.
  15. deleted post.
  16. Tie one end to the thing needing winching. The other to an immovable object. Join them together and ratchet away.
  17. Call me strange, but I have a ratchet strap or two in the truck incase I need to ratchet anything down
  18. I have a feeling as an Arb Approved contractor John has already done the rigging course. i haven’t snapped but had a double braid melt onto itself and the bollard. Inexperience Groundy and more than likely my fault for not spoon feeding him on the day. We had already rigged most of a mature Red Oak down over a brick driveway. Maybe 20-30 sections lowered. On this occasion i said to let go let it run, so he put 5 wraps on the porty and then as the lump detached I noticed out of the corner of my eye he was had let go of the riggin rope. Hence the melting from the lack of action from the melt.
  19. Do you mean a bit like 4:35 in this video. Fortunately the climber managed to flick it out. I had one once clip into the dmm metal version of the carry tool and ended up lowering the head of a decent sized sycamore of my harness. Turns out it was a pretty good place for a redirect. LOL.
  20. According to the comments on facebook. One of the guys who was there said he survived but had a fractured collar bone and broke a few vertebrae. As for where or when? no idea. I must admit I watched it the once and don't particularly want to see it again. Again, according to the comments there was no gob, just a back cut with the lads on the ground asking wtf was he thinking? Definitely sobering stuff.
  21. Sunday didn’t feel too enjoyable. Or Monday! ??
  22. Steve, I went out for a few beers on Saturday evening with the boys. About 70 quid each for a meal and 4 beers. Caipirinha at a rum bar after was 12 quid, then went back in the beers and ciders. I haven’t dared look at my bank balance yet.
