  1. It may just be an extreme case of Bottle Butt?
  2. You could do it yourself. It isn’t too hard just follow some Instructions for a double braid splice. Alternatively, maybe Tom Bowen @Tommy_B could do it for you.
  3. Do you live in Lewisham or was it you on the bike?
  4. Depends on what you want it for. I have 60m of the 11mm http. It is very low stretch and is a bit like climbing on wire. It is great but I wouldn't want to take a fall on it. I haven't managed to get it working on my Rope Runners or BDB and it worked for a while with the akimbo. Then for some reason just started to slip with the Akimbo... an issue with the device and not the rope. I have other ropes I prefer to climb on so it has been coiled up and hung up in the workshop for a while. I might give it a go with the RW someday. It is always nice to have a backup long rope as the weather here in Norway can be inclement, so it is nice to be able to change if you need something dry. Hope this helps.
  5. Are you sure about the towing capacity mate? In order to upgrade my 2018 Hilux to 3.5 ton it is about 2000Nok (200 quid ish) extra.
  6. SAme here. but the SR+ model in Norway.
  7. Exactly the same mate. Just keep hold of both loose ends and imagine they are joined.
  8. Jotul something or other. burns like a Mofo and keeps everything toasty. Posiibley a bit too toastie.
  9. Bit of snow here today. Winter wheels have to on by Nov 1st. Just queing at the Tyre hotel to get mine changed.
  10. I worked in all conditions last winter in Norway. Pfanner Ice grip were some of the best I tried. My main problem is size 11’s are a bit big but doable. Size 10’s in thermal work gloves tend to be a tad too tight and I lose the circulation in my fingers. Usually end up taking the gloves of and climbing bare handed to get the blood back. Kind of defeats the object of cold weather gloves.
  11. The wood! i keep filling it up but it keeps emptying itself.
  12. Haha. Just spotted that. Here is another one of the man, the myth, Mike.
  13. A job from September. Working with Mike Hill over on the west coast of Norway. Crane/Hiab assistance on this big Elm.
  14. Couple of pictures of a job last week. Not a bad place to work.
  15. I usually get on the road by 5.45. Meet in Oslo for 7- 7.30. As it goes I have been here now for 20 mins and not meeting till 7.30. i would much rather sit and chill at someone’s yard and have a coffe than be stuck in traffic for an hour then all guns blazin’ at work all day.
  16. Very dramatic. Some good work. I have the Schultz effect. He is obviously very knowledgable but sometimes his rigging looks a bit overkill IMO. i find it hard enough with a rigging line and working line, let alone two of each, which he has in a couple of shots.
  17. Up top hinge
  18. Not sunset I am afraid. I live on the East side of the peninsula. we do get some Lovely sunrises though. I don’t mind getting up early for work. The canvas changes daily.
  19. Imagine being a fly on the wall as he is trying to get finance for his new Aston... all because of a CCJ for non payment of 450 quid to rectify a problem tree in an emergency.
  20. Treekit Maybe?
  21. The older generation... One of my good friends in Manchester found out after his great Uncles funeral, via the Jewish chronicle, that he was one of the Brigand of Nazi Hunters. A group of Jewish soldiers took it upon them selves to track down and kill Nazis. The film Inglorious Bastards is based on their exploits. The point I am trying to make, he was a hero within the Jewish community yet nobody, or very few, including his family knew anything about it. My mate was immensly proud when the article paid tribute to his great uncle.
  22. Surely standup comedians, country wide have been warning the nation for years... ”Take My mother in law... (you can ‘ave ‘er!)”
  23. I guess the damage was done when you agreed to actually live with your mother in law. I know I wouldn’t have it, or agreed to it.
  24. I had a similar experience whilst doing my secondary school education. We were doing poetry bay the war poets in GCSE English. At the end we had to write and essay after interviewing someone who served in the war. When I was a kid, an old couple over the road used to look after me. So I went round to interview my uncle Joe as my mam mentioned he had served. I sat down with him and asked him about his time. He just looked at a wall and slowly started to cry. Sat there for 5 minutes, crying and not saying a word. He then just got up and walked out the room. He was in a Prisoner of War camp in Burma and just the thought of the atrocities he had witnessed at the hands of the Japanese was too much. I felt terrible. Was he making it up Vesp?
  25. Works both ways mate. if you over value yourself, your abilities and your kit... and can’t get enough work. Thats your choice.
