  1. Maybe if your very lucky, there will be a tree for you to use it in instead. Food for thought!
  2. Get yourself a Jetwash. Blast it and get all the bark an mess off it. Flog it at a garden sale/carboot sale as a fancy garden sculpture. You may even make money on it.
  3. All the best on your journey. I hope the treatment goes as well as can be. Pma all the way! Good luck!
  4. Congrats on getting marred, I mean married! Go on have kids, you know you want to! Back on topic. Well done for getting the job done. Bet your glad it is done and dusted? Just don't quote for the works in 7 or 8 years time.
  5. Liking the miniature groundie in Hi vis. Do child labour rules exists in Stanley?
  6. Anywhere mate. Even on a leg loop if you want. It just keeps the tail of the rope away from pointy things.
  7. It has nothing to do with the rope construction or longevity of a given rope. If you spike it you spike it, end of! Be more careful where you place the gaffs or put a small krab on your harness and run the tail of the rope away from you and the gaffs. I have a number of ropes, including Imori. Not a problem and been using it since it was launched. Mind I try not to stick my gaffs into it!
  8. Nicely documented Rupe and good work.

I heard at Capel, it was due to be launched at an arb fair in Deutschland in May!?! Has this now been put back?
  10. Tony, Stu is asking for help. I don't think he will bash you. Just looking for advice. Isn't this what it's about?
  11. Do you have pictures Stu? They would help with any diagnosis from the experts.
  12. I used to climb with a very experienced guy. He was good at everything and a joy to watch. If I ever got in an uncomfortable situation I used to visualise myself watching him from the ground and imagine how he would tackle and overcome. Worked for me. Not had the jitters for a while now, not sayin I won't again.
  13. I think it depends on your clientele. Corporate, H/A Local Authorities... may have been booking in a lot of work as it was spend up time in the years financials. The rain doesn't help. This time of year is generally slow. I think the increase in work due to budget spends at the end of the last financial year makes the drop this month more exaggerated.
  14. Haha, urban foxes - so cute!! Haha, they are vermin and nothing else. I cannot understand why the Program has been made. I even know the line producer of the show but I haven't had the heart to ask!
  15. I did it 2 years ago. If one of you are Employed then get them to be the principle. Avoid Abbey/Santander like the plague. Biggest load of wasters out there. Had me jumping through hoops for 4 months only to nearly lose us the sale when they refused to offer what they had done originally. Settled with RBS in the end but put down nearly a 40k deposit. 35 % IIRC. Speak to various mortgage conveyancers / financial advisers and Good luck.

    CE Mark?
  17. Cottaging? Not quite, but it did end in ...ing.
  18. There was 1 of 2 reasons I went into the woods. If I had taken my camera, the fellas would have started wondering. I did take a picture of a mushroom whilst in the Arctic Circle though a couple of years ago. Krakmo, North of Norway. Can you confirm what it is? Cheers.
  19. Not an expert by any stretch, but I am sure I saw F. fomentarius on a knackered Birch in Surrey last week. Popped into the woods behind the customers gaff and noticed it.
  20. Very sad indeed. The same thing happened to my dad and uncles. My old man aged 7 was swimming, his bro (aged 14) dived in to help, got my dad out then had difficulties. The oldest bro (aged 21) dived in to saved middle bro and was washed away by flash floods on the river Swale, N Yorks. They found his body a week or so later. A lot of things in my families life changed as a result of that tragic day. I hope Ian's family can put it behind them as best they can. RIP
  21. In 6 years contract climbing, freelance, whatever you want to call it, I have never used or provided my own fuel. I don't have any issues with their mix as their saws haven't seized yet so can't see how mine would. Mind I do tend to graft for people who know what their doing. I provide, climbing and rigging if needed, 020, 441 and experience. I have a couple of spare 020's, but of the job required anything larger than the 441 and 20" bar I expect the company to be providing a larger saw. I mean should they be taking on work that requires largers saws without having the means to cut it..? I don't mind people who know what their doing using my saws. It bust it, blunt it or anything they know I expect it to be returned to me in the order they got it. Beginners or people who cannot sharpen properly have no chance of using my kit. I can be pretty vocal in letting them know or not if they can use my saws.
  22. Adam, Pm me your email and I'll invoice you for the information...
  23. Yup, it's bendy alright!
