  1. 6t went off in a grain trailer in 2 pieces. The pick I had my hand on weighed 3t. On the max for the crane at that reach. Or so the buzzer was telling us.
  2. Cheers mate.
  3. A London Plane stem we went back to to take out today. 20t city crane.
  4. exactly Rupe. Deerman, it has never happened to me, not saying it never will, but how would a half hitch not be able to loosened if the piece rolls?
  5. Running bowline at the top under the chunk to be cut. Half hitch at the bottom. Sling timber and clip to line. Cut. Move running bowline down to below next cuttIng point. Remove slack in the line at the base with the half hitch. Repeat. KISS. Maybe, use something at the bottom to take the sting outta the impact.
  6. Good luck mate, being freelance is a lot more about delicate work and not boshing out trees for G & T or City Sub. I have worked with quite a few ex guys from above companies and some of them when confronted with flowerbeds, greenhouses, fences etc end up breaking them as they are not used to this type of work. The main advice I would offer is to be honest of your skills. Don't big yourself up too much as you may come a cropper quickly. Likewise, don't sell your self short. As I said, good luck.
  7. Gutted for you mate. What's the company name? I am not sure I have seen you around by I will keep an eye out for the vehicle you described. What was the flavour of chipper?
  8. Good luck Bob.
  9. Not an expert by any means but Drew B reduced the bury by 50% IIRC on the E2E spliced hitch cords. He also tested them to destruction. This was a while back, maybe he will be along to give a bit more accurate information.

    Baby names!

Cant help on the girl front but we have 2 boys. My missus is Norwegian so Norse names were the obvious for us. Haakon - named after his G Bestefar on the Noggy side, also it means highest son or first born. Plus, Haakon was the king of the Vikings. Torstein - means Tor's (Thor's) Amulet or Hammer. His Bestefar is called Thor and he came out a right little chunketh, so the rock of Thor seemed to fit as a name. I think you can have an idea of names if you know the sex but they don't always fit. Best to wait and see. We were lucky as both names had appropriate meaning and suited them. We would also have been screwed as we had no backups - hehe! Good Luck on the birth.
  11. The oldies but goodies!
  12. Maybe so, tbh though, the last thing I would want after a long stretch of strenuous exercise is milk. Barfathon!

I have all the sky sports channels and kiddies stuff and docs. It already cost enough, I don't really wanna line their pockets with another tenner!

Looks like Marshman had a 0 taken from him and replaced with a 1. Nice one Kong!
  17. My mate religiously drinks beers after running. He read it in a Spanish running mag that the old beer rehydrates the body and replaces the lost electrolytes. I was sceptical, but he believed it.

Good I am in hospital for the night. Just had the missus check, definitely not on tonight.
  23. Oh and don't get me started on the organic argument. What a load of bollowax!
  24. No Tim, the testicles are the Mongolian Haribo. A healthy balanced diet is all you need. A little bit of everything but not too much of anything. The only benefit these fad diets give are making the purchaser of the foods, wallets thinner and the food stockist wallets fatter!
  25. Really? 441 20 inch bar is gutless? Think you have got a dud one there mate. My 441 with the 20 is a beast. People have asked in the past If I have had it ported and tuned like my 020's as it rips. Purely a stock saw that has ran like a scalded greyhound straight outta the box.
