  1. I did it 2 years ago. If one of you are Employed then get them to be the principle. Avoid Abbey/Santander like the plague. Biggest load of wasters out there. Had me jumping through hoops for 4 months only to nearly lose us the sale when they refused to offer what they had done originally. Settled with RBS in the end but put down nearly a 40k deposit. 35 % IIRC. Speak to various mortgage conveyancers / financial advisers and Good luck.

    CE Mark?
  3. Cottaging? Not quite, but it did end in ...ing.
  4. There was 1 of 2 reasons I went into the woods. If I had taken my camera, the fellas would have started wondering. I did take a picture of a mushroom whilst in the Arctic Circle though a couple of years ago. Krakmo, North of Norway. Can you confirm what it is? Cheers.
  5. Not an expert by any stretch, but I am sure I saw F. fomentarius on a knackered Birch in Surrey last week. Popped into the woods behind the customers gaff and noticed it.
  6. Very sad indeed. The same thing happened to my dad and uncles. My old man aged 7 was swimming, his bro (aged 14) dived in to help, got my dad out then had difficulties. The oldest bro (aged 21) dived in to saved middle bro and was washed away by flash floods on the river Swale, N Yorks. They found his body a week or so later. A lot of things in my families life changed as a result of that tragic day. I hope Ian's family can put it behind them as best they can. RIP
  7. In 6 years contract climbing, freelance, whatever you want to call it, I have never used or provided my own fuel. I don't have any issues with their mix as their saws haven't seized yet so can't see how mine would. Mind I do tend to graft for people who know what their doing. I provide, climbing and rigging if needed, 020, 441 and experience. I have a couple of spare 020's, but of the job required anything larger than the 441 and 20" bar I expect the company to be providing a larger saw. I mean should they be taking on work that requires largers saws without having the means to cut it..? I don't mind people who know what their doing using my saws. It bust it, blunt it or anything they know I expect it to be returned to me in the order they got it. Beginners or people who cannot sharpen properly have no chance of using my kit. I can be pretty vocal in letting them know or not if they can use my saws.
  8. Adam, Pm me your email and I'll invoice you for the information...
  9. Yup, it's bendy alright!
  10. Nice pictures and work Drew. The 48" is heavy isnt it?
  11. A good ole chainsaw bun fight! I like it!
  12. Cheers Cary, only problem is HB sent me the 8mm thimble when I requested the 6mm DMM. Oh well.
  13. Cheers mate, lets hope Ian pipes up and reposts the pic. I scrolled through 30 odd pages before I typed my post...
  14. Any one got a pic of the RW tether and DMM thimble? Just received the thimble from HB today and been trawling through this thread to see a pic... No joy. Can someone post one up pls? Cheers.
  15. Yeah. The tape sling is just the right size for me. No slack in it and sits snug so I haven't caught it in the tree yet. I could imagine if the sling is a bit loose it may be a bit disconcerting having a bina flapping about. Don't fancy loosing a couple of teeth. Just put a twist in the sling and put it on like a rucksack. Clip a bina on the two from loops holding them together. Simple and already had slings in kit.
  16. The bar behind the door and tipper is a great idea. Worked for a couple of companies who secure their tool lockers that way.
  17. I have been using the Lyon tape sling crossed over my back and the front loops clipped with a bina. works a treat and you wouldn't know it was there.
  18. Ochsenkopf for me.
  19. Seiko Arctura kinetic.
  20. I have had one of these for a few years now. seiko kinetic arctura - retro style/collectable | eBay Purchased it for 450 in 1998. Had it serviced a couple of time, but holds the time well and is going strong.
  21. What do you charge during the week? 150 for yourself for a Saturday sounds a little cheap. I would want at least 200 for myself and 80 for groundie, plus costs. Be careful, they may be putting work your way but I can guarantee they will work you. If you give a day rate they will want as much cramming into any given day as they can. Don't undersell yourself, go in higher and you might be surprised!
  22. FFS Megatron... This is getting bloody boring now, grow up, get a life and stop trawling through multiple posts and quotes to try and prove a point. Both yourself and Spud seem knowledgable chaps. Co-exist as the rest of us are getting bored with the playground stuff. Peace.
  23. I find there is a simple answer to that one... Don't bother scrutinising others work, either on youtube clips or pictures. I try and concentrate on what I do well rather than what others may do badly. You can still compliment people on good work.
  24. Nice work mate. You working your way home? A poplar fell from today.
