  1. The links on a new chain need to wear in to fit the bar, extra oil just lets this happen a little less aggressively.
  2. Clearly you are in one of your mischievous moods The point I was trying to make was, if you had asked me if I oiled a new bar, I would have said no, but because I always oil a new chain and always put a new chain on a new bar, in actual fact I do always oil a new bar. I was just wondering if you were the same
  3. Stevie, when you fit a new chain, do you not pour chain oil on the side of the bar, start the saw and then rev the saw whilst holding it on its side allowing the oil to be taken into the bar by the chain?? I've always done this to "bed in" a new chain and I would always put a new chain on a new bar, so follow the same procedure for a new bar and chain.
  4. I missed this the other night. But just found its on "Sky anytime", so if any one else missed it and has Sky you can still see it.
  5. I'm the same. Only ever tried long gaffs once, felt like trying to climb in stiletto's Also if you are used to climbing in short gaffs and use long ones for any climbing other than spiking up a stem, there is a real risk of gaffing your foot.
  6. Nice ride mate!!! I'm sure that door panel is straight, so your Dad was wrong Hope your enjoying your visit
  7. From what I can understand regarding diffs, if they are not set up spot on when new they will fail prematurely. So I would imagine this one was not right from new.
  8. Do you show them all pic's of your BIG jobs??
  9. You tell them mate, its better coming from one of their own:thumbup1:
  10. Same here!!! I used to always be under pressure to fit in more and more jobs, but now its a much more pleasant pace. As gibbon says once I stopped myself from panicking and convince myself that the work WILL come maybe not a quickly but it will still come, I was fine. I am only speaking about my own experience in my area, other such as mesterh have had a very different experience and have acted accordingly.
  11. I found the same, less work in hand, but it just keeps on coming. To be honest I've had my best year ever, had some real set backs, had to spend a small fortune on the mog etc, but turnover was up and so are profits. Got work for Jan and stuff in the pipe line.
  12. A very versatile tool, that would give you lots of options!!!!
  13. Are planing a return to contracting Lee???
  14. I think you may be missing the point, they are totally scripted and Jeramie always claims to have won, but we have all seen that he hasn't. I think in reality the Toyota was the best, before those stupid big wheels were fitted it had been fine.
  15. In my experience, it gets you all the way!!!!
  16. So its a newer landy?? If its constant four wheel drive, you only really get one wheel driving, the wheel with the least resistance.
  17. You only need to jack up one wheel front and back, because in 4 wheel drive you only have one wheel driving on each axle. Unless you have diff locks.
  18. EXACTLY!!!!! But as an employer you really need to be seen to performing you "duty of care" Its some what different if you are self employed, IMO.
