  1. Take the centre out, leaving the outer foliage, which is then trimmed with hedge cutters.
  2. He was referring to to chip not logs. I guess he thinks normal arb chip will burn on most boilers, unfortunately that is not the case.
  3. I would watch those vids, but he makes my skin crawl and sets off my gag reflex, so I'll pass.
  4. Looks like halving it took some cutting.
  5. It plays a HUGE part!! The worst thing is the way the idea of any sort of "afterlife" cheapens life, after all if there is heaven or an immoral soul there is no "death".
  6. Do you have a video??? If theres no picture it never happened.
  7. 550xp, 460, 660. But I can see the Stihl's beng replaced with more Husky's in the coming years.
  8. I'm not sure that seal will be the problem, its probably just to keep dirt and dust out, not oil in. I think the problem will be inside the pump. Seals are available, I rebuilt a pump on my mog, the seal was £70 and fixed the problem (it had overheated and melted the plastic internals) a new pump was £450, so I was very pleased.
  9. Often thirst is often mistaken for hunger, if your tying to watch your weight its a good idea to try a drink before eating
  10. I'm currently heating my pool with Yew, 2ft stuff split down, burns lovely. Sure we hear how much this fancy timber is worth and how its better sold than burnt, but selling its such a hassle, just burn it!!! Look at the price of gas, burning it gives you a pretty good return really
  11. Sounds ideal!! Although I'm very surprised they will allow them to be pollarded, but not reduced?? Are you sure this is correct??
  12. My schiesling front mount chipper has a built in reversing box, its never given and trouble.
  13. How do you know they are not insured? Up here the councils have a system in place that prevents them from raising a Purchase Order with out the contractors up to date insurance details, I always get a call each year asking for my new certs when they try to raise an order, but fail because the renewal date has passed.
  14. If you have employees or just workers of any description under your control, you must have ELI, by law.
  15. Yes, but it does not do that to combat the beetle, its the fungus the beetle carries that the tree is trying to kill, but the tree dies first. Or at least thats my understanding.
  16. I would say most climber eat a great deal, this is often born out by those who stop climbing, but keep eating and unfortunately become very obese.

    Beech fell

No chipping, it was stripped out using my crane with grab and a tractor with loader grab, all brash burned, timber stacked, took around 3 hours.
  18. Beautiful, wish it was in my garden.
  19. Very wet and windy, my son was having a pool party, 30to40 of his school mates, they all finished this year, we've put it off till tomorrow, just hope its better then.
  20. Is DED still notifiable?, I've never reported one, just assumed that the genie was already out the bottle???
