  1. So basically some of you think we should just rollover and take this and that saying you think it's wrong is in some way out of order????? I just don't get it???
  2. Dick Leigh has been posting out parts for decades, way before the internet. I recall going to an AA seminar 20 years ago, a woman there asked where I lived, when I told her she said how lucky I was to live so near to Dick, they posted their saws 400 miles to be serviced by Dick and bought all there gear from him. So really if you want to go back to a time when we HAD to go to a dealer for parts, you need to go back to the time before the postal service or at least the telephone, I'm pretty sure even you are not that old So no I don't see any of your statement as fact. What Stihl are doing is ridiculous, IMO.
  3. I don't believe the only people complaining about this are too young too recall the time before the net, to say that is "fact" is IMO yet more nonsense:001_rolleyes:
  4. On saws I would agree, but for those who bought saws from Stihl because they live very rurally and needed to get your parts posted in I feel they are its wrong. Why did Stihl not flag this change for a few years, giving people the chance to chose another brand before they became a "captive audience":sneaky2:
  5. What nonsense. The world has changed beyond recognition. Do you really think its acceptable for a company to think they have the right to impose something like this?
  6. That WAS the old policy, the NEW policy means NO machines or parts can be posted out, its personal hand over only
  7. Oh yes, he was 100% serious, I'm sure he had seen it go bad many times. Fortunately I marred the right lass and have no concerns:thumbup1:
  8. Same here, we each hold half the shares. Was quite funny when we set up the Ltd Co my accounted asked how solid my marriage was and was I sure about putting the Co 50% in her name
  9. Don't think you can fit a wheel carrying bonnet to new Defenders with "bulge bonnets".
  10. Sweet looking ride Tom, very nice mate:thumbup:
  11. Have you owned one??? I bought my 56 plate as a demonstrator from the main dealer with under 4k on the clock, its been a great motor, had a few repairs, but nothing major. Its only fault is its MPG. People slag them off, (mostly those who have never owned them:sneaky2: ) but they must be the best selling 4x4 for a reason.
  12. Why do you need permission?? Looks like it was already a dwelling.
  13. I was in the yard at 7.40AM, got home at 5.45PM, had my tea, then washed and changed and out quoting at 6.45PM, got back home again at 8.50PM. Although TBH I don't really think of quoting as work.
  14. NFU for me, not cheap, but you get what you pay for, IMO.
  15. Thats so true Always makes me smile when failed business earnestly offer advice and expect people to listen:001_rolleyes:
  16. You are making a huge mistake if you think you can't cut through a wire core, you should have a second tie in just in case.
  17. I never use one, your flip line should be backed up any way and if you think a saw won't cut though a wire core your kidding yourself.
  18. You sound like those customers who complain about paying for professional tree work
  19. When was the diff oil last changed??
  20. No, its because people won't allow them to be built near them, every time a company tries to build an incinerator powered power station people protest and lobby their MP's to stop it being built.
  21. I've worked on plenty of shared trees and hedges.
  22. As Tom says, it will soon be back. It looks from the picture like a shared tree, is it not growing in the middle of the fence??
