  1. Not sure I agree, not having your climbing gear LOLER'd, does not put others at risk, neither does having no rescue climber. Also using a chipper with no stop bar or a saw without brake. There is also the whole "lone working" thing. I think this could effect some of us a great deal, in a good way
  2. IMO, this the truest statement in this whole thread, football is a business, plan and simple, its all about money. I fully understand why people in the past supported their local club, with local lads playing, but today thats all gone, its just which team can afford the best players from any where in the world. I really don't get how people get so worked up and passionate about it, but hey its a free world
  3. Thats the longest "come on" I've ever read, she could have asked if you fancied going for a drink sometime:sneaky2: Joking aside, its really nice that she took the time to praise you and your work
  4. Are they not a little old for you????????
  5. I have four of my own, boys 16 and 17, plus two girls 8 and 10, so I'm good thanks
  6. I find araldite works really well for fixing saw pants, sticking on patches etc, I tend to add a little less hardener, so it says more flexible.
  7. But your thread title says its NOT aimed at "less experienced and homeowner"??
  8. Thats ridiculous, IMO.
  9. No, you still want a razor sharp edge, IMO.
  10. The problem is that H&S legislation only applies to business, not leisure or home users.
  11. Not really sure how they can fuel our fires, be handles for tools, rafters, boats, coffins, etc, without harming the tree?? I guess its the "forest" or "woodland" that needs to be "not harmed", not the individual trees.
  12. Yes and no, as far as I'm aware.

  14. OR would Jared have killed the camera too:sneaky2:
  15. Not necessarily. Some HSE stuff is retrospective, so they could outlaw the use of top handles in business. As they did with chippers when they brought out the new hopper dimensions/stop bar regs, it not only applied to new chippers, but all machines used in business had to be retro fitted to meet the new regs. Although 12 years after that came in there are still plenty of none compliant machines out there:sneaky2:
  16. But why are they not selling it?? Is it because it does not meet the new regs??, in which case they CAN"T sell it.

Thats mental!!! I do hope that upon seeing that you quote the the immortal line "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die".
  20. Because they smell like cats pee
  21. Having the two attachments separated will make branch walking very difficult, often you want to hold the two parts of your rope as you walk, with your system you will only be able to hold one at once, which will pull you off balance. It is good to "think outside the box", but generally the most common methods are used for very good reason and other methods have usually already been tried and rejected for good reason.
  22. Yes, and to be honest I thought it was really good, but I guess if it was not meeting the new emissions it would be.
