  1. Not really. Surely they need to know wether your putting the payment through your books and you will ask them for an invoice, if not you are avoiding tax just as they are.
  2. Link does not work for me.
  3. No, they are saying the ZZ will be damaged, not your rope.
  4. I rung up a split a rippled Sycamore once, it burn lovely.
  5. I'm not sure you CAN object to an application for works on a TPO'd tree. Yes if an application is for the removal of healthy trees, there will normally be notices put up and the TO will contact the parish council etc, and he may well pass it on to comity to decide. But if a tree NEEDS felling on safety grounds how could anyone object? Pruning works that will not dramatically damage the tree and fall within BS3998 can't really be refused or if they are an appeal will allow them, so what would be the point of consulting the public? I have in the past been asked to carry out works and then apply retrospectively, as the planning department were to busy to deal with my application within 8 weeks. Planning is not like normal law, you can build a house without consent, you can then apply for consent (if your pulled up about it with 4 years) if you get consent no offence was committed, if you don't, you must demolish the house and put things back as they were. If a TPO'd tree is pruned without consent, but the work would have been permitted, I fail to see what offence has been committed?? I'm not saying its good practice.
  6. Maybe the TO knows the contractor and knows that won't happen? I've done plenty of crown lifts where the consent had no specifics.
  7. The work would no doubt be allowed if an application was made, so why does it matter?
  8. Thats rich coming from someone who FRAUDULENTLY gets their items bid up
  9. People always say Horse Chestnut is poor fire wood, but lit my boiler a couple of hours ago, using half a pallet and green HC (wind blow from yesterday) my radiators are now read hot.
  10. Is this really the case??? The bark IS fire proof, thats why they live so long, they have survived many forest fires, but is the wood really poor fire wood???????
  11. £150, plus not having to cut and hand ball it, sounds great to me:)
  12. Yep, I had a 130 that had 110 on the logbook, never had a problem.
  13. You may find it just blocks more often.
  14. I think he is asking what he should charge.
  15. In those situations I offer to leave the timber for them to sell on
  16. I don't really see a need to mock. Forestry guys buy standing timber all the time. OK its not what we do and I certainly could not make an income from buying that tree, but who am I to say others could not? I remember years ago being contracted in to dismantle a large Beech by a timber merchant, the job in my eyes was worth £400 all day long. The guy I was working for was doing it for £250. After I had striped it out, he expertly dropped it though a very tight space between the other trees, cut it into lengths, loaded it onto his timber trailer, disappeared round the corner, half an hour later he was back. He had sold the timber to the mill for £250. I'm sure others had priced that job at £350 to £450, but none had won it, he priced it at £250, but actually got £500. There are always different ways of doing things, what may not work for you can work for others.
  17. Yes, it would be LOADS of other problems. The mistake here IMO is using anything Microsoft, personal I avoid anything Microsoft, life to short for the frustration of that slow running, clitchy, unintuitive, garbage. I'll be sticking with my hassle free Apple stuff But thats only my personal experience
  18. I use pages for every thing, I think it was under £20.
  19. Is it not illegal to to disturb nesting birds or damage their nests?? Not being arsey, just this is a public forum and you never know who's watching.
  20. Have you even seen a ZZ?????
  21. skyhuck

    If only???

The heater in mine is outstanding, they are on air, not springs. The main problem would be fuel consumption and payload, the Disco 3/4 is the heaviest motor landrover has ever built.
  22. Each time you change/sharpen the blades, would be my answer.
