  1. Quads are useful on the farm and in the woods but they're not worth having inplace of a car. Not just all the road legility issues but the fact someone might just knick it from Tesco car park. Out of interest how old are you? If your young and wanting a first car then its going to be expensive even on a old banger. Unfortuantly its best to bite the bullet and just do it as you start to earn a NCB.
  2. Most HGV training companies will do it. Find your loacal HGV test centre (you have to take the test there) pop in and ask around (if its not far). I did mine in a car and box trailer just outside Oxford (which was the closest). I'm not going to recomend the company that i organised it through as they were very rude. So much so that they now get no business from me nor from anybody i know.
  3. About a year ago there was loads of these in the Farmers Weekly classified.
  4. I only get heated handels now. makes a big difference. I wish they would just make it standard so you always have them. If you always use them i wonder how much damage you could stave off your body.
  5. Nothing wrong with heated handels. Wish i had them on the 660. I love the 576xp with a 24" bar.
  6. I had a D22 solid bit ok kit and dam good on the fuel. I've skidded some big bits of timber behind it too. Have a D40 now i like the refinement to it over the D22 but it does lack the agri grunt the 22 had. I love the Rodeo good workhorse but has the refinement of a new navara. Also a 3litre engine. To the orginal question i think there is a guide to fixing it on the nissan navara forum.
  7. I'd love to see you park the 130 on my road. Parking the D22 was hard enough.
  8. I live in a town and hate it. I don't like neighbours, i don't like the inane chatter i can hear through the walls. I don't like younglings in their cars playing what they call music. I want to be a country bumpkin.
  9. £9k is what Oxbridge charge and you'd walk out with a much better education that you would from Myerscough. I'm shocked that they would even think at charging that much. As Janey says it's arb/forestry is very poorly paid and that level of fees will put off a hell of a lot of people.
  10. Got some nasty shake in the end of that. Big lump that. Looks like there a bit of hepatica staining on the other end. You work on the Woburn Estate or did you just buy the lump from them?
  11. Thats a big 6" chipper.
  12. I think i paid VAT on assessment not too long ago. I wonder if it depends if the assessor is VAT registered.
  13. Very clever. I have a mirror on the trailer angled at the tow bar which you can see in the rear view so you see the hitch. Makes sence as you need to be able to park the ball hitch under the trailer to pass the B+E test.
  14. Felco number 8 bypass and no 31 anvil. Last forever if cared for.
  15. Yep costly but worth the money. I also have some Samurai secateurs which have been very good and lasted a long time. Not bad for 20 quid.
  16. That would be cold enough. When i left today the car was saying it was 23 degrees. Valtra heater/air con is fantastic in the winter it can make the cab tropically hot and in the summer it can make it finnish winter cold:thumbup:
  17. Nice and cool in the tractor with the air con on.
  18. Had a guy pull into the yard for some woodchips. His disco's rear light was hanging out. Pointed it out to him, he didn't know why it was like that. Bad people must of been desturbed knicking it.
  19. Did you make your own website? Was it hard. I think i shall make a FB page for my company.
  20. What yield class are the conifers. Again will give you an idea of how much avaiable wood your getting.
  21. Whats forestry like in NZ? I'd love to go and work there but i'm forestry rather than arb.
  22. Thanks i'm thinking about going full time s/e. I'll email you a CV over later tonight.
  23. i just googled CS10 and that was first on the list. As for updateds the HSE recommend that you do refresher training every 5 years as a professional user and 3 years as a part time one. Refresher training can take the form of adding a new unit or just doing a refresher course. NPTC | FAQs | When is a chainsaw refresher training required? this may be of interest. CS10 in the blue book? I see on your website that your looking for s/e people...is that still current?
  24. Post some pictures see if we can help. Normally you can adjust how the drum sits against the clutch plate.
