  1. I'd ask for a bit more. Filling the combi cans up aint cheap anymore neither is driving to site. If you're doing 8-11 tonne a day then your cutting very well.
  2. What is the min HP required for to run a Bandit 250 on a 540pto? The 12" capasity would be great for the sawmill waste and the big infeed hopper would be great for crane feeding.
  3. I'm afraid not they were really strict on cameras on site. They had security on site 24/7 to stop people photographing stuff and leaking it to the press. It was fantastic it was camp in the woods where the kids lived. (right at the end of the film).
  4. The new Robin Hood film. The one with Russle Crowe. Worked on their set lunches and breakfasts were great.
  5. Can the JD wing mirrors fold up against the windscreen like the MF can? Our Valtras can't so they get nackered. Mud guards are flexable as i've hit one with a tree and they do bend. Also abused them picking up bits in the brash mat.
  6. I've think that it might have a place as butting off saw for when doing windblow.
  7. Nothing wrong with having those things in the cab. Wearing my forestry hat sometimes messes up my lovely locks. Right tools for the job and all that. Nothing like working in comfot.
  8. They have nice warm glazed cabs with lots of space and a comfy seat. I'd take that over the blue and white with equal size wheels.
  9. What you have there is rocking horse dodo. You are in Sweden however where the things are made. Which explains things i have a 357xpg and a 390xpg on order with the dealer for over two months now. Just no XPGs comming over here at the moment worldwide demand is massive.
  10. Nice county. A guy down the road has a collection of them and they are emaculate.
  11. Some of those cracks maybe felling shake or drying cracks rather than proper shake. It something only experence will tell.
  12. I tend to do 3". Gives you a few more options when resawing.
  13. Yes I have got to defeat some sort of general drone. Can't do it. It may result in throwing lap top in frustration.
  14. SC is always a bit shaky. If its ring shake then your more than likely useless. Star shake is a bit different but in SC it's still a pain but you can do more when cutting it. This is a bit of SC felled a few weeks back for milling. Ring shake at the butt end. Be chasing it back till its gone. Most of the SC i fell is 18"-48" for the mill found the younger stuff moves around a lot on the saw. I do mean a lot i've had 3" set on the band saw guide but the tension in the log pulled it round so one end was down to about an inch. You can get a 4x4 out of a 5" log if you don't have a bandsaw and don't mind a bit of wane on the edges of the post.
  15. I posted before you said it was a camper.
  16. To come home with some money you won't want to be traveling more than 50 miles.
  17. I hate high pruning. Pole pruners have the worse vibration of any tools they can get bent very easly as you often try to one more big limb. Get a nice silky on a stick keep it sharp. Keep the cuts clean and acurate.
  18. I thought it was the cold wet winter:001_tt2: I've alway got the xpg versions for the HAVS benifits. Always get mocked for it. Even all the dealers ask why do you want the XPG version. It's an extra 50 quid and it really saves off the havs and keeps the gloves dry.
  19. I mill a lot of SC posts. from 4x4 to 12x12s They last very well post on the estate that have been in the ground 30 years, which is about their max life. Just be careful about milling 10-18" coppice stuff. It springs all over the shop you won't get a straight post out of any of it. Cleaving might be the best way.
  20. I have an ASUS laptop. It's fantastic. Two years old now i think i think it came with 3 years of warrenty.
  21. Not a clue Charlie. It's all i've used. Use it a lot on scrub on chalk grassland so LOTS of flint. Holds up quite well. If you push them to the limit of what the machine will handel you do blunt them quite quick. I was felling 6" stuff with on a 345Rx and it wasn't saying as long as if you were doing 3" stuff. I love using the clearing saw if you get lots of scrubby trees by using different bits of the blade you can pull the butt towards you or push it away. It makes for nice lines of little trees all chopped down. Doing felling cuts with them is a bit of a pain.
  22. As above day rate for felling and volume for extraction.
  23. I saw that too. He was stabbed in the head with a 8 or 9 inch knife! Poor guy wish him a speedy recovery. Hope they catch the woman who stabbed him too.
  24. I use the Husky Scarlett blades. Hold an edge well stand up to working on chalk grassland.
  25. Never felled Hemlock. I find the Orange or Yellow tinted safety glasses make working in the dark dark woods that much easier as you can see.
