  1. OR a Kid nicked it and stashed it up there?
  2. Looking forward to this! Royal Oak,Old Bexley. From 6pm :http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub2828.php Be good to put some Faces to name, have a few Pints and a Curry. Be like a wee Spring Break for me,its Brassic here.
  3. If your pump its not leaking and it runs fine, then I wonder if it isn't the lift pump? If your winding it over and it fires with a big cloud of smoke, then the Diesel is getting there, how much you don't know but its getting there. Then it could be,a number of things. You will have a glow plug relay on or near the fuse pannel, you will also have a Fuse for you Glowplugs.Changing both won't be costly. Might be a place to start?
  4. The colder it is,the easier it seems to Split.I had a play around last week Splitting some Oak in -10,much easier. I don't mind working in the Cold, but anything under -20 can get painful.I don't like climbing in Snow Boots or thick Gloves. So I have to suffer when my Feet and Fingers thaw out in a Warm Truck Cab. Ropes get a bit stiff in the Cold,Friction Hitches can seize, they melt the ice when your decending and then it freezes again.Saws get problematic and you need winter grade Bar oil,or dilute it with an Alcohol.
  5. Ice in November to carry a Truck, best have your wood cut or your going to be ....ed. Thats something I just made up.I doubt it will Rhyme in Norwegian.
  6. Got Expelled from School and was to young to join the Army.
  7. Slow is a National Pass time here in Norway. Don't forget it would take at least three people to use that here as well.
  8. I'm 31,been climbing for nearly 15 years.I want to be out of this industry by 35.My reasons are as much about looking for another challange as much as they are practical. I have worked with guys who have been climbing for 20/30 years and many are doing it because they have to, but fewer because they love it.Both those who love it and those who have no choice were more damaged physically than they would have liked. However the pace of the work in the UK and the relitive small size of the Trees could well extend your Climbing Career.
  9. Yes and have been for years. They are no good to you when someone else needs them mate.
  10. Me and a Guy named Steve used to imagine what our company would be called S&M Tree Services "Beating Prices Black and Blue"
  11. I have no Imagination Tree Services. I struggled at School Tree Service. Etc.
  12. I'll book the Curry House this Week. I would like an idea of numbers attending the Meal. Looking Forward to this, well need a break. This was my first weekend off the Tools in seven Weeks.
  13. If your not in your Spikes alot, then Steel offered the best Value and Velcro pads the best comfort. However if your Spiking daily, then somthing with a little less weight like Alloy or Titainium with the Velcro wrap around pads would me my choice.
  14. The hight of the Tree must have somthing to do with how much Tension is at the Butt, must be a bit like using a long Breaker Bar on a Frozen Bolt. I know what you mean about using the wind to push a Tree that might have a slight back lean on it.But its best if you back up your Cut with a Wedge(s) in case the wind drops or there is more weight behind than you estimated.
  15. Bear Grylls makes Fishing Hooks from the Wire in Parachute Harnesses Rob.... Perfect little Stainless Steel Hooks...... He uses the Waterproof Pockets to hold the Room key to the Holiday Inn and his roll of Menthos.
  16. I would have to disagree with that. The wind can complicate Feling no end,its the main reason why Fallers walk out of the Bush.A heavy leaner becomes Tensioned enormously more with the wind behind it.So much so that they can Barber Chair when your putting in the top cut.
  17. I have Slept on a mate Couch WITH OUT a Duvet Eaten Cold Pizza from the Lid of a Box after a Party Found a Half Melted Ice Cream on the Beech and eaten it (was still in wrapper) Made a Tent in a Park from a Deflated Paddling Pool and a Skipping Rope. Lit a Fire in a Rubbish Bin with only a Lighter and some Sparklers. Here is a Picture of the Buss that the idiot Starved to death in.Yes you can drive to it,not its not that remote.
  18. Good idea Mick! What time do you reckon would be good for us all to meet at the Pub? I was thinking from 6pm,then Meal from 8pm or what do you all think? Some people are bound to be late and others have never met before and will want to be aqquainted.
  19. Google Accomadation Bexley Mate. So Far... Me Mark Mick Dave (Hopefully) Rich Joe Chris Frankie Lawrence Jonesie Steve Andy Ross Malcome Mr Moose Faction Anyone Else is welcome! Food:SAGGOR Booze:http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub2828.php The Curry House and Pub Looks good.I know nothing about either apart from what I have read. But they are both close to Public Transport and not too far away from busier area's.
  20. Nice job! It goes to show how Taupo's gone, now there are Arborists Felling Trees using a Skidder. When I lived there 12 years ago half the town was involved in the Logging industry and one of the Chainsaw shops used to do $14K a week.
  21. Sounds like the get together is attracting a good few numbers. Can we have suggestions for the Curry House and the first place to meet? So far its Me Mick Dave Rich Joe Malcome Chris Jonesie Steve Andy Mr Moose Faction Anyone else is welcome to come along!
  22. "LOL" GREAT POST!
  23. Don't mock my new look please. How many of you make an effort to look well presented at,during and after work?A man well groomed is indeed a man well kept.I was considering a Trilbey but that would have hidden my immaculate side part. Do any of you know just how hard it is to find "Brill Cream" and "Bay Rum" in this Desert of Male Grooming that is Western Norway?
  24. Imori is ok in wet conditions but its not as easy to handle as Tachyon.
