  2. Really sorry to hear about that mate.Fingers crossed for its return.
  3. It's probably a Tradtion,maybe they appointed a new King or sumfing?
  4. Totally depends on what you are into.Bigger Cities in the North, bigger wide open spaces in the South.Higher wages in the North, lower Housing costs in the South etc.You really need to have a look around NZ anyway before you go for good.
  5. I think a Mog with a Hiab and a PTO Chipper would do nicely. How come you can't get it into the City?My Mog came from Germany registered as a Truck.
  6. Shame the Customer isn't an old Lady.Because if they were that Branch would tenuously attached and in danger of Falling toward any children as well as being known to cause Cancer in Pets. £550 Cash and your liable now I have spotted the problem.Shall I take you to the Bank Madam?

  10. I bought a U1000 424 all spec'ed up with PTO's,Dual Circuit Hydraulics etc.Mainly it sits in the Shed as it did not work out.It was a toss up between a Mog or a Tracked Chipper pulled by a 4X4.I had always wanted a Mog so I got one. Mainly it runs a wood splitter and sometimes a PTO chipper. I have never relied on the Mog as a main vehicle, so its fickleness never ment the main income stream was disrupted. When you are looking about in Germany, never tell the Salesman the bracket you are looking spend. The Mogs won't have price tags in the window or nowt like that.Tell them what model you are after and that one only, get them to Scan the "TUW" (Mot) doccument to you before you go and look at it. Alot of the Mogs are sprayed with water before the Photo's are taken, look at the Photo for signs of water pooling under the Machine.Beware of heavy "rustproofing" its a cheap and attractive way of making all the airlines and chassis look nice. Tip the deck and give the Star a tapping, many mogs are used as salters and it knackers the star. List goes on mate.Good luck.
  11. There are plenty of Sharks in the Game in Germany as well. I bought mine there a few years ago. This is what I learned. It is common for dealers to advertise stock they do not have."I just sold it a day before you arrived" Sorry but here is another one just like it..... Dealers often rent out Mogs for Snow clearance, instead of sitting on their lot is actually pushing Snow or Salting. Expect to spend 30% more than you thought you would.ie a 25K Euro mog is a hell of a lot tidier than a 20K Mog,which you may have gone over to buy. Buy from a reputable dealer.Thats hard to determine over the net,so recomendations are crucial. I went to Germany three times before I found what I was looking for. Merex do have good stuff, and they have a Britt who works for them. You pay over the odds with them however. mobile.de ? Gebrauchtwagen und neue Autos ? Deutschlands größter Fahrzeugmarkt. 12. For an occasional user I think Chaps are best.Especially if you are not using the saw for long periods of time. They take up less space in the Wagon/Dry our fast/Come off and on easy.
  13. Heating up the Pointy end of a Chainsaw file works too.
  14. Tell them you made a mistake and inform them of the cost increase. If they refuse, walk away. It is their right to choose who they hire and your right to choose who your contract to.
  15. So we have a mentally unstable person with access to Firearms who show's disregard for himself and Animals. If he goes 'postal" with a MP5,I guess nobody would have seen it coming.... This man needs help, and that help needs to be provided in a place he cannot harm himself or others. So far this has not been done.
  16. Those Dogs would have died for him if need be,and he betrayed their trust. I hope he is mentally scared. He deserves to be.
  17. 1.Not enough because the Contor of the plate usually allowes only two Rubber feet to be in contact with the Tree. 2.Shifts on the Big Bits yes. 3.Yes,its not as easy as the Competition. 4.Me,my groundy, and the guy who lent it to me have 50 years experiance between us. 5.Inch and 13mm Ropes. My main concerns with this device are usability and design. The design of the device is complicated and its use is not easy.If I used it for ix weeks or six years I would have the same difficulty operating it.
  18. Its possible to lower on the Winch. But probably not intended .
  19. More versatile than a Hobbs, harder to use than a GRCS. More expensive than either.

  21. Over the last six Weeks or so we have been using the "Smart Winch". Design. The device consists of a Curved Steel Plate with a Harken 46 Winch mounted centrally with a Fixed Bollard surrounding itThe Winch is only removable with Tools. The idea is that you use the Winch for Pulling or Tensioning and the Bollard for lowering.Rubber Feet are mounted to the Backing plate to help prevent damage to Trees being retained, thats the idea anyway The Bollard has two curved Steel hooks used to direct the Rope off the Drum when winching. Two Pegs are located at 12 and 6 O'clock in addition to the Steel Hooks to keep the Rope on the Bollard when Lowering. The Device is attached to a Tree using a Nylon Strap and tightened using the Winch Handle.Any Excess must be coiled up or Bagged to keep it out of the Way. Operation. Attachment to the Tree is a two person job,not helped by the Weight of the Device and having to deal with 21 Feet of Attachment Strap.Once the required ammount of Strap has been pulled through the Tensioner you then tighten it up using the Winch handle.Unfortunatly its a Winch handle 27cm Long and not a long bar,so you won't get it that tight. Due to the Curve of the Backing plate and the Plate being static not hinged, you are unlikely to get all of the Plate in contact with the Tree, shifting can result. Winching. Because the Bollard Surrounds half the Winch Drum, there is a bit of a "knack" to getting wraps onto it.The Drum of the Winch has raised Flutes instead of Cross Hatching and these don't seem to Grip a Wet or Slimy Rope positively. Also the Winch Drum is made of Alloy. Lowering. With a external diameter of 20cm the Bollard is exceptionally Smooth in operation, its just not that easy to get the Wraps onto it as two Bars cover the Top Part. Unfortunalty you cannot use the Winch to pretension a Rope onto the Bollard. Conclusion. Its great to see people coming up with new ideas and developing products. However during my use of this Device I felt as though I was using a prototype instead of a finnished Marketable Device.More study of its competition and development of this,in conjunction with weight reduction and a increase in usability could result in a winning product.
  22. A light Alloy Pulley will get alot more use than a Cast one.Might be worth getting one of those as well. Buy some Webbing like Rock Climbers use and make up a few Slings of various lengthss. They will come in handy with the Pulleys.
  23. That would be a hell of a deal. They are about 2400Euro normally.
  24. Cool. Can you let me know what Compression Tester you have, if you have one for your Mog.I have contacted a few sellers on Ebay and have not gotten any Straight answers. Hit me up if you don't have theWorkshop Manual for your Engine.
  25. Have you not got the numbers round the wrong way mate?
