Ten years ago my Boss at the Time drove me through I think it was Richmond park.When a big Stag walked into veiw, I thought I was seeing things.

Limbed the Spruce on the way up,knocked the Top and a few chunks off.Then got the Wedges out.

These are also very nice! When the Bridge gets a wee bit Frayed you just "Mend" it with a lighter.It sayes you can in the handbook probably.

Personally I would get a Jensen.They are well built,reliable and well thought out.

Climbing self tend lowering? due to bad grounds people!

I've done it abit. Once or twice when I have had to section Fell a Tree alone and had to lower a Branch,I have attached a figure 8 to the Stem with sling then run the lowering rope over a branch above the one I am lowering.Cut the Branch and lowered it to the ground,pulled enough slack through and undone the system.I would be a pain for more than one Branch,but sometimes one is all you need to do. -
Can't get mine clean.I bought a £200 Pfanner Jacket because I thought I would be safe on the roadside,not to mention it would have been wicked at any Raves in the Woods.Alas after a short while it became dull and dirty and I was once again back to wrapping myself in Baco Foil and dancing with Glow Sticks. Shame really.The Jacket had nice pockets.

I wonder if forgoing the Chip Box and have the Chipper mounted on a Turntable over the Rear Axel.Then have a Ram inside the Chippers mount that extened the unit out when needed,ie feeding the chipper at the corner of the Vehicle.This idea would allow chipping into a Trailer and have some space for tool box mounted where the Chip bin is.

I feel that leaving a "Strap" to control theTree is Flawed. Firstly the amount of "Strap" that is to remain is entirely guessed,that "Strap" is in effect lengthening the Hazard.Or if there is a large Knot on the top of the Tree you may not have any "Strap" at all. In a situation as depicted in your Video,I would have cut down from the Top untill the cut began to pinch and then up feeling with the Nose of the Bar.

It will depend on your aspirations within the industry. Some Arb roles gender dosn't matter any,some it does. With regard to work climbing,most Woman find it more difficult physically than men.Its not easy for anyone,especially when you are new to it. My girlfreind is a Climber for a Local Authority and does a good job within the production expectations of her workplace.However I would not find her capacity as a Climber acceptable in the same role in my Company. Starting as a groundy,even on a limited basis will give you the world of insight into this industry.Also you will see Climbing in a production situation so you will know what will be expected of you.I beleive it takes about five years of climbing every day to call yourself experianced.Adding those five years onto your age now may also colour your decision. At the end of the day,"nothing ventured,nothing gained".

All the best mate!Thanks for the advice on enjoying your life,everyone knows how easy it is to get swept up in business and stressed out. Your post has inspired me to get a new hobby,I was dismissing it due to thinking I would not have the time for it.I am now going to make the time.
